Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH Reviews
Lenstip reviews the Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH and writes;
“In fact, with a bit of experience the lack of autofocus won’t be felt at all. Even working at the maximum relative aperture we will get a sharp image from 5.45 meters to over 63 meters, choosing a 10-meter marking on the distance scale. When we set the scale at 5 meters, we will have the comfort of sharp image in the range from 3.5 to 8.6 meters… The way the Summicron 2/28 corrects the chromatic aberration is difficult to flaw. Even near the maximum relative aperture the aberration is low and on stopping down the aperture it decreases further reaching practically imperceptible values.”
Kenrockwell reviews the Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH and writes;
“This Leica 28mm f/2 is the world’s highest-performance 28mm lens. It’s fast, sharp and doesn’t have any visible distortion. There is rarely anything out of focus, so bokeh has little meaning here. If you shoot at f/2 at 0.9 meters, the background bokeh is neutral to a little weird.”
