Leica M Digital Rangefinder Camera Reviews

Engadget reviews the Leica M Digital Rangefinder Camera and writes;
“The camera itself is quite beastly, in typical M fashion, and appears to have just as much heft as the M9. There’s a new Gorilla Glass-equipped 3-inch, 920k-dot display, that’s plenty sharp and quite responsive in live-view mode.”

Digitalcamerainfo reviews the Leica M Digital Rangefinder Camera and writes;
“We’re pretty sure you’ll see another Halley’s comet before you’ll see Wi-Fi in a Leica M-series camera, but the few concessions to modern technology on display here will allow Leica shooters greater flexibility when shooting in low light and, for the first time, allow them to capture video.”

Theverge reviews the Leica M Digital Rangefinder Camera and writes;
“Everything about the Leica M feels refined and obsessively thought-out. Even the sound of the shutter is subtle and unobtrusive, while the control scheme is quite idiosyncratic, but sensibly laid out.. Turning video recording on and off, capturing photos, and browsing through your recorded media were tasks that the Leica M handled quickly and adroitly.”

CNET reviews the Leica M Digital Rangefinder Camera and writes;
“We could toggle both functions easily as they are intuitively designed in the form of a rear click wheel (controlling the 10x magnifier) and front button (focus peaking). A new thumbrest on the Leica also offers a better grip of the camera.”

PCMAG reviews the Leica M Digital Rangefinder Camera and writes;
“The M’s image sensor is a CMOS design, a departure from the Kodak CCD used in the M8 and M9. Its sensitivity ranges from ISO 200 to 6400, but can be set as low as ISO 100 in extended range mode. Even with a top shutter speed of 1/4000, Noctilux owners will find themselves reaching for a neutral density filter to shoot at f/0.95 on a bright day.”

Pocket-lint reviews the Leica M Digital Rangefinder Camera and writes;
“the new M is going to get Leica fans very excited. This camera has been totally redesigned and now includes an exclusive-to-Leica 24-megapixel full-frame (35mm) CMOS imaging sensor. It’s not something that we’ve been able to test out here, but the use of CMOS rather than the M9′s CCD construction has enabled 1080p video capture in the latest M.”
