Leica has launched the Leica ELMARIT-S 30MM F/2.8 ASPH lens. It is a wide-angle lens for Leica S-system medium format DSLR with angle of view equivalent to 24mm in 35mm format that allows users to make creative composition especially in the fields of interior, architectural and landscape photography including a fast maximum aperture of f/2.8 that ideal for available-light photography and the conscious use of selective planes of focus. The lens ensure a perfect results in a wide range of photographic conditions with offers an outstanding imaging performance from the closest focus to infinity at all apertures, and brilliant colour rendition. The Leica ELMARIT-S 30MM F/2.8 ASPH also offers an excellent control of flare, extremely low distortion throughout its entire focusing range, ensuring high-contrast images, even when shooting a backlit subject. The lens will be available in the UK market in December 2011.
