Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium Reviews

Photographyblog reviews the Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium and writes;
“impressively, up to ISO 1600 images are clean and relatively noise free. Indeed we’d suggest that performance at ISO 1600 is the equivalent of ISO 800 on lesser compacts, including Panasonic’s pretty good Lumix series.”

T3 reviews the Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium and writes;
“The combination of the fast high quality lens and large CCD certainly makes for exceptional image quality in the Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium. We were truly impressed with the high quality of our text pictures: no visible noise, clear, crisp photos with lovely natural colour.”

Techradar reviews the Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium and writes;
“when shooting up to ISO 1600, images are clean and relatively noise-free, with a resolution drop and painterly effect above ISO 3200. The top whack ISO 12800 should only be reached for if it’s a choice of that or not getting the shot at all.”

Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium User Reviews

Excellent and versatile point and shoot camera with an unsurpassed lens- at a price
“The brightness of the lens,which is much superior to other p&s cameras, at each end of the zoom range. By the way, the digital zoom reaches to 15x; The lack of distortion at wide angle focal lengths- this is a particularly good feature; The very wide 24mm wide angle- very helpful for a travel camera;” – By J. Yes, it’s a Leica
“I have had my D-Lux 5 for just a few days now, and I am delighted with my choice. It’s all that I expected and more. Build quality is superb (as expected), picture quality is excellent, and there’s even more flexibility and features than I had imagined. Definitely a winner!” – By The Rabbi

An excellent compact camera
“This camera is small and light, but yet it feels solid, and has good ergonomics. The battery life was good and lasted a whole day of shooting. The picture quality in JPEG is excellent for a compact camera, especially with the exposure and white balance in indoor situations.” – By TL

Great Pocket Camera For Enthousiasts
“The picture quality and low light performance is way above the pocket cameras. The manual adjustments and fine tuning is not as easy as multi dial SLRS but this one fits in my pocket… Now I enjoy travelling light and getting excellent pictures in raw format. I highly recommend it to travellers.” – By Y. Ulcer

A real Leica lens for compact digital
“The Leica D-Lux 5 Digital has exactly what I bargained for – the Summicron f2.0 lens which performs like all the Summicron lenses. It may be one of the sharper image makers too, but no aberration whatever, no flaring, toally uniform rendition at any distance and light conditions.” – By aen9900

Great Camera and gives you more than you would ever expect from a compact sized camera
“I am not a professional photographer, but I did compare it with my friend’s Panny LX5 and to Canon’s 550D dSLR. I tried shooting starry sky mode (moon and stars) which I consider challenging because of “low light” situation and the picture exposure and saturation was superior to the shots taken by the other 2 cams.” – By Victor

fabulous
“This is a fantastic camera. full manual control and shutter lag is reasonable for a compact camera. i have been able to get great shallow DOF at 24mm f/2.0 AND at 90mm f/3.3 and the pictures are extremely sharp – like a true leica.” – By Dr Dorian Gray

Amazing camera for its size
“Now I can draw the camera in a flash and snap a photo whenever I see a good opportunity. I can’t even quess how many more photos I shoot with this than I shot with my 40d, and more photos mean more excellent photos.” – By Dr. Dave

I’m not a photographer, and that’s how I like it
“In the last trip I took I had many friends with huge Nikons and Canons, two were pros… and even though they had better zooms, at least in those particular travel pictures I can assure you – my Leica on A was just as good as their DSLRs most of the time. And, I swear, sometimes even better. Amazing colors!” – By L. Nery

Leica D-Lux 5 worth every penny
“Pictures are better than any other point and shoot I’ve ever used. Compared to my wife’s Canon G10, pictures are sharper and noise is significantly less pronounced at high ISO.” – By Ben

Excellent quality and ease of use
“The D-Lux 5 technically may be a compromise compared with M cameras, but it is a very excellent compromise. The D-Lux 5 produces RAW output; it can be manually adjusted for low light shooting; the resolution is really good; the low light images are amazing; and the overal image quality is superb.” – By BarneyBM “BarneyBM”
