Its arround one year since I am using this camera and I am really very happy with the performance of this camera. optical zoom is amazing with great picture clarity. only thing I feel missing is low light shooting capability. Camera performance during night /Low light is not good.

I am not a professional and I love my Z980. I got it because of the zoom lens and price. I took it with me on a cruise to the Mediterranean last January and took some amazing pictures. Same with a road trip I took to Vegas this summer. I don’t have an “eye” for all the noise that everyone’s mentioned…neither have people who have commented on my great pictures!
I just have a bit of a problem with settings in a “concert”…using the stage setting overexposes the people (washed out faces) and when I switch it to manual setting, (I have no idea what to set it on) it’s always too dark. Maybe some of the pro’s here can tell me what to set it on…?

Here I am waiting 4 Kodak`s 18Mp cameras.

I enjoyed the way some of the “professional reviewers” predictably trashed a Kodak digital camera in the Z980. They will predictably not care to explain why the camera is unavailable on the Kodak web site and selling for almost double its introduction price at Amazon and other online retailers. Wish I had picked one up at the introduction time.

It’s not clear what you mean here. Does it work better with a larger (16 or 32gb) card? Does that clear up the audio / video mismatch?

i an using the z980 for past 1 month.
i observe that in video shooting its zoom very good but when a 8 gb card inserted its observed that the audio and video (lip movement) do not match when connected to tv -av cord connection.
its sound pickup is very sharp
