According to Lyra Research (lyra.com), women are more likely to choose Kodak as they are in general are less comfortable with technology, and therefore more attracted to trusted brands.

The Lyra Research’s 2004 US Digital Photography Survey shows that more than 20% of women surveyed use Kodak digital Camera, while only 10 percent of men made Kodak their brand of choice.
Moreover the research shows that men are likely to choose Canon Digital Cameras, with almost 17 percent respondents using that brand.
