		<description>Another similar camera is the Canon PowerShot SX100 IS.  If you measure the zoom on the Kodak you will notice it is 11.3X, not quite 12X, and actually less than the 10X of the Canon, which measures out at 11.8X!  Also macro mode can't get as close as the Canon.  The Kodak focuses more surely than the Canon, which frequently just can't lock in.

Even though you can use (2) premium NiMH AA rechargeable batteries for power, you won't get many shots.  The Canon SX100 IS was actually designed to use these batteries, runs a long time with them, and is more pocketable as well.

Although the Z712 has a eyepiece viewfinder, which the Canon lacks, you can't 'review' without cranking out the lens like you can on the Canon.</description>
