Cameratown reviews the Kata KT D-3N1-30 and writes;
“While there are some slight design changes I would recommend to Kata, overall the Kata 3N1 is a home run. Kata sent the mid-sized model (3N1-20) for me to review and, for me, it was the best choice. The larger bag would have held more of my gear, but I would not have wanted to lug it on my back.”

Awesome backpack/sling bag
“Since the 5DMK2 won’t fit in my Canon Zoom Pack 1000, I decided to upgrade to a full backpack with a quick-draw setup. I didn’t want a full time sling bag (ie slingshot 300) with so much weight on one shoulder, but I needed the quick draw setup that most sling bags have. The Kata 3N1-30 can switch from a full backpack to left or right sling bag with padded waist support! Perfect! I must admit the 3N1-30 is bigger than I expected from the photos. But it is well padded and the yellow lining helps a lot in search for your gear.” – By Poopy Monster

A bag for everything
“Great bag that I can put all my gear in. It can hold a gripped 50D or 5D Mark II mounted to a 70-200 2.8 IS in the quick release pouch then store 4-5 more lenses in the lower compartment. Up top is enough room for a HD camcorder, tapes, dust blower, battery chargers, and whatever else you might need (I carry everything)…” – By Johnson & Johnson

Sweet Bag
“In just the camera compartment alone I can hold: Canon 20D, 1D Mark III, Canon 24-70mm 2.8L, Canon 50mm 1.4, Canon 580EX II, Canon EF-S 10-22mm, and Canon 70-200mm 2.8L IS. I think this is a great bag for hiking or traveling. I also don’t have a problem with lenses shifting. That’s probalby due the the fact it’s packed so full…” – By C. Oswald

the best travel bag out there
“First this bag is wonderfully designed for the traveler. The sling design can go over either shoulder, or it can be a backpack! The extra strap simply tucks away into back of the bag. This is brilliant. The straps are nicely padded, as one would expect with Kata. However, what really sold me was the little side padding for where the strap hits the waist. Not only is this a nice touch, but in sling mode you can also tuck in the padding that you aren’t using. Very well done Kata…” – By Allison M. Perkel

The best camera backpack that I have found thus far
“This backpack is extremely useful. It is large enough to hold my Sony A900 camera together with a lot of lenses and accessories, such as the Sony 100mm f/2.8 macro, 16-35mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f2.8 and 85mm f/1.4 lenses, as well as a flash and other accessories. Most conveniently, it permits access to the camera without removing the pack from my back, much like the Lowepro SlingShot 300 All-Weather Camera Bag (Black) but with the following significant improvement. The SlingShot pack has only one shoulder strap, which hurts my back and shoulder when I carry my heavy camera gear. In contrast, the Kata pack has two shoulder straps and so is much more comfortable..” – By Photo/Video Gearhead

Very well thought out design
“My overall grade is an A- for this bag. It’s great, very comfortable, extremely well made, and overall about as good as it gets currently with full size camera backpacks. Love the 2 compartment design which makes hiking with this bag a wonderful experience. I love that it holds my very large camera (1D Mk II) comfortably with a longer lens attached. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and will keep Kata in mind for future camera bag purchases if I ever need one!..” – By E. Martin

The best camera backpack i have ever used
“Kata 3n1-30 really gave me a big surprise. From out side, it’s almost the same size as my fastpack 250′ but in side, it’s much bigger. I can easily fit my D700 with grip + 2470 with Hoodon. and the side compartments can hold at least 6 other medium lenses. Another great feature is that it has so many ways to carry the bag( backpack, slingshot,etc…) !! And the materials are very durable, really worth the money!!” – By Zhengqing Wei

Perfect for 70-200 lens
“The Kata 3n1-30 fits everything I need for a day out shooting (1D Mark II w/70-200 lens mounted, 17-40mm f/4, 430EX flash, flash cord, 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, 28-80mm f/2.8 lens, my hat, 2 16oz bottles of water, ziploc bag of snacks, car keys, cell phone, Garmin 60CSX GPS, spare batteries of the 1D and flash, ND and circular polarizer filters, and my 12 pack of 4GB CF memory cards with room left over in the top compartment. Build quality is excellent. Obviously not mil-spec, but looks very durable and I’m not afraid to drag it across rocks” – By A. Kim
