“I wanted a camera bag that is bigger than a Lowepro Slingbag 100 and smaller than the Slingbag 200. And, I was looking for a slingbag that could convert to a backpack. The Kata D-3N1-10 is just that. This is a well made comera bag. It can hold an Olympus E-3, 50-200mm and 11-22mm lens. The fit is a little tight, but I like it for travel.” – By Danville, CA
“Great bag. Well constructed with a quality feel to it. Feels like it is really protective for my gear – very strong, semi-rigid material. Compact size, but still fits in my D90, 18-105mm, 50mm, Lensbaby 3G, SB600 flash and spare batteries. Nice quick access panel on either side too. Lots of cool touches. Best of all for me…. no velcro fasteners, just zippers or clasps, perfect!” – By Burty
KATA BAGS ROCKS
“Extremely satisfied!!! Absolutely the very last bag you will ever need!!!! Which unfortunately for me means I have to have more of these awesome KATA bags. I an a civil engineer, constantly on the move. I travel from office to field, to gym to grad school, everyday! Sometimes on foot, sometimes on a bike, sometimes on public transport. I have to carry my laptop, mp3 player, cellphone, extra clothes, food… and some other stuff… I have been looking for this bag all my life. If you have several “worlds” to juggle. This is the bag for you.” – By L. Sutanto
Well built comfortable; best for a small SLR + lenses
“The construction quality and comfort are strong suits. I used the Kata for long hikes on two successive days and it was very comfortable — more so than the Lowepro Slingshot. It’s built very well, with heavy duty zippers and snap closures and excellent padded straps. The interior padding is excellent and there are some small zippered pockets for small items. It comes with a nylon rain cover that fits into its own bag and that worked well one day when the snow turned to rain in Boston…” – By Michael Sandman
Form, Function, Fashion…Price
“At one point the bag fell off my bike an into a highway as I dragged the bag for over 80 feet until I could pull over. I was going 60mph and the bag and the $2000+ worth of gear I had was fine, with only a few scuffs. This bag presently holds a 5D(w/ grip), 70-200, 85mm, 50mm, 15mm, 17-40mm, two foldable reflectors, a flash, miscellaneous accessories, and much much more (cell phones, card readers, mini hard drives, sunglasses, gloves, filters, *hefty bag). I have been real impressed with this bag so far even with high abrasion abuse! “ – By Andre Horton
“Padding and protection are first rate. Insides of 3N1-10 are highly configurable. With Nikon D60, no problem with 55-200mm mounted on body stored horizontally, with some room to spare. Also stores my 18-55mm, and could easily store another lens plus flash unit. That’s without tapping the storage capacity of the top compartment. Noteworthy item is that the top compartment shelf has a zipper across 3 sides that when unzipped allows the padded shelf to flap down, giving one larger compartment if needed. My preference is the backpack configuration, and as advertised, its no problem unclasping one strap, and swinging the pack to your front to get inside one of the quick access flaps. If you had a much larger attached lens, its possible to configure the insides for a vertical storage instead of the pictured horizontal configuration. This bag was a great find. “ – By D. Meador
Perfect Camera Bag
“I have to say, this back pack looks amazing. It looks like a prop from a futuristic movie. Great style, very comfortable and did I mention it looks good? There is plenty of padding so if you drop your bag, your gear should be safe. Can be easily pulled around front to grab your camera. I have in this bag: Samsung HD camcorder and two batteries plus charger. Two lenses for my D60 and the body itself. 4 secure digital cards, 3 batteries for the D60 and its charger and cleaning supplies. And this is the small version of the bag. You can also choose to order a larger one. Do your self a favor and get this bag.. “ – By Polishedimage.
Perfect Photowalker’s Bag
“This bag is just the right size for a day out in the city or a day hike. In practice mine held a camera body+moderate zoom (E-520+40-150mm) in the quick access slot and two more lenses bellow and a strobe above. There is also a portion in the top of the bag for accessories. My only complaint is that the bag is smaller than it looks, you will not be able to fit a 70-200 attached to a camera in this thing. “ – By Zachary T. Silvey
Kata KT D-3N1-10
“I bought this item to carry my Canon Xsi w/ std lens, a Canon 70-300mm, a 60mm, and a flash. There is enough room to fit all these items, but interior arrangement is difficult to accomodate storing the camera with the 70-300 attached for “quick draw”. If I had ti to do all over again, I would buy the 20. Other than that, the Kata bag is really good quality. Better that most others I looked at.” – By A. Bradley
