Inspiring Macro: Robber flies
Wonderful detailed macro. I think the photographer really made such an ugly insect look so cool and interesting with a personality. Outstanding shot!

* About 850 species in North America.
* Larvae in soil and decaying wood, apparently feeding on other insects.
* The swift flying adults are also predators of other insects.
And I took this shot on the steps near our’s apartment in Omis-Stanici, Middle Dalmacja,Croatia!
