HP Photosmart C4280 Reviews
PCAdvisor reviews the HP Photosmart C4280 and writes;
“The PhotoSmart C4280 produced a colour copy in 1 minute 20 seconds and, most importantly, produced the closest copy to the original documents out of all the MFDs here. Its mono-copying performance couldn’t live up to this performance, but the results were still pretty faithful.”
Gadgetspeak reviews the HP Photosmart C4280 and writes;
“Print quality was excellent – even in draft mode – and I was happy with everything I scanned or copied. Print speeds were quite near what was claimed, the scan speed for documents was slow but accurate and some colour documents looked as good as the original. If you give a good original the scanned output will be good, OCR of a text page will also be good providing it is not folded or creased, if it is you may need to make a few changes.”
Laptopmag reviews the HP Photosmart C4280 and writes;
“Photos look sharper with the C4280 than they do with the Lexmark x3550, but they’re still faded compared with those from the Canon Pixma MP600. In an outdoor portrait, for instance, our subject’s hair appeared a pale shade of yellow instead of a rich dirty blonde. In a picture taken indoors, a toddler’s feet, lined and dirty after playing outdoors, printed a flat orange. Finally, the photos printed wet, and even after they dried, the paper still felt flimsier than the other brands we tested.”
Trustedreviews reviews the HP Photosmart C4280 and writes;
“Print quality is OK, though nothing special when printing colour on plain paper. There is some noticeable banding in coloured areas and dither patterns can also be seen. Black text print is well shaped, with little feathering, due to the use of pigment-based ink. Photo prints are clear and have plenty of detail in areas of shadow and smoother toning in coloured skies and seas.”
Reviews.cnet reviews the HP Photosmart C4280 and writes;
“The color graphics print was better, with nice color saturation, good handling of barcode patterns, and sharp detail in the photo elements, but we noticed graininess in color blocks and the gradients were beset by faint vertical lines. The 4×6 photo prints were just OK; the colors could use some brightening, and we would’ve liked to see a sharper image. We also saw graininess in color blocks. “

My Back-up Photo Printer, | Rating:
“I was able to find both printers for less than the cost of one color laserjet. I have the space and both are HP’s so they work well together. I don’t do a lot of color printing and I use this printer for my scanning and color printing only. For those tasks it works very well. I am very pleased.” – by L. Lubinski
The HP 4280 is a great printer, | Rating:
“This review is for the HP 4280 printer/copier. The 4280 is a great printer. It prints fast and accurately. It uses two printer cartridges. You can temporarilly replace one of them with a special photo cartridge, when needed, for more accurate color when printing photographs. The LCD on it is in color. “ – by Dennis in Houston
Fast, Reliable, Perfect for SOHO, | Rating:
“You can’t do better if you need equipment for a small office, home or home office. My last printer was a bit faster but the difference was slight. The C4280 prints fabulous photos, scans AND copies! I gained needed real estate in my home office by eliminating 2 machines. For me, all that for this price is great.” – by Cinthia
Impressive feature rich all-in-one unit with a low price tag | Rating:
“I’m amazed at the results produced by this ink jet printer! I had retouched some old photos of my parents and had them printed as 8×10′s at a local camera store with a good reputation. The C4280 with photo paper produced prints that looked every bit as good as the expensive camera store versions. “ – by Penumbra
Very good economic workhorse, | Rating:
“First off, I’m using two of these printers: one with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), and the other with OS 10.5 (Leopard), and have experienced NO PROBLEMS printing, scanning, or copying. This thing works like a charm, prints very fast, and even makes passable 4×6 prints. The real beauty of this printer, though, is the ability to install the “X” cartridges that have 3x the ink and save a lot of money over the long haul.” – by D. Johnson
for such a reasonable price, it’s a pretty damn good printer, | Rating:
“I’ve now had the printer for about 9 months, and have done B&W/color printing, copying and scanning. i am fairly impressed with speed and quality (especially for the price tag), and have had no problems with reliability as others have complained about. i ate through my first print cartridges fairly quickly, but got the extra large capacity replacements, and noticed a significant difference.” – by Adam
Good Printer for the Price, | Rating:
“This printer has been a great purchase for me. I wanted a quick printer with quality printing. Like many other HP printers, it is a bit of an ink hog, but unless you can find a 12 oz. ink bladder and rig it up to today’s printers, you are not going to be happy about ink usage. Given that reality this is very good product.” – by A. Krikorian
Excellent for a Small Home Office, | Rating:
“I am very pleased with this printer. It makes perfect copies, it prints lighting fast. It looks sooo much nicer in person, and by the looks alone is worth the dollars. Looks like part of the MAC family, and you know how good the Mac designs are. High Quality materials everywhere, not that light type plastic, but a nice solid/shiny type.” – by Robert
A great all in one printer/scanner/copier from the folks at HP!! | Rating:
“This is a nice,inexpensive printer,Actually I got mine for like 10 bucks after rebates,@ got it at the now defunct Circuit City,the only thing is that the inks are a little in the pricey side,but as a printer,my family has always been happy w/ the quality of the prints,not the fastest printer in the world but effective!!! We like like it because we dont have to got to a store to make photocopies,it’s copier(B&W and Color!),it is also a scanner!!” – by Jason Pumphrey
