Heavy, but worth every once
“I was looking for a solid tripod that was able to stand in harsh uneven terrain. This is the one. I’m relatively short, at only 5’7”, so a tripod this tall may seem like a bad choice. With only three of the four leg sections extended, the tripod is near eye level. As I shoot on very uneven terrain, however, it is often I’ll have one or two legs with all four sections fully extended, with the other leg only half extended. This tripod stay very solid in any position. Before purchasing, I thought the centre column design was somewhat gimmicky, but it is actually very functional, and locks down very tight when not in use. I’ve used the three way column for shooting macro shots down low. It is surprisingly stable.” – By Flammer

Sturdy but Heavy. Excellent for th $$$
“I’m a student and photo enthusiast so I’m far from pro so this tripod exceeds my needs or capabilities thus far. Aluminum construction makes it very heavy but in light to moderate wind it’s also very stable. All of the little functions Giottos put into the tripod add up to great versatility for many different situations. I don’t have to raise the center column because with 65 inches w/o the head it’s plenty tall. Fully extended the tripod remains stable.” – By R. Chia

great tripod
“This tripod is great. It comes with the shoulder strap, carry case, and tool kit so there is no need to buy those. The only thing that I could see as a problem with it is that it is a bit on the heavy side but it is very steady and im a big guy so I wont complain to much. This is a very good tripod though and is worth the price. “ – By Justin Olivares

Giottos MT9370 Features & Specifications

The Giottos MT-9370 Aluminum Tripod Legs, as part of the professional-level MT III series, has a unique center column design, is versatile and easy to use, but yet still economical.

The unique swiveling center column mounting design allows it to be used as a lateral arm with angle adjustment, which is especially useful for nature and macro photography. The column can also be used upside down and reversed. It allows for 360° horizontal and 180° vertical adjustment, and the column can be positioned and set quickly by using the locking knobs.

In addition, the top part of the center column separates from the main column. By slipping this short camera platform into the swiveling center column mount, you now effectively have a universal 3-way head. This set-up also allows the tripod to be used for very low down-to-the-ground shots.
