Fujifilm X20 Reviews

T3 reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“What’s new is the 12MP 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor on which Fujifilm has ditched the optical low pass sensor, which should mean greater picture clarity. It should also avoid the infamous ‘white orbs’ problem on the X10, which was a result of a defect on the original sensor.”

Photographyblog reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“The X20 offers better image quality thanks to the new 12 megapixel 2/3-type X-Trans CMOS II sensor with no low-pass filter, much faster auto-focusing and operational speed, enhanced manual focusing that you’ll actually want to use, and an innovative optical viewfinder that now displays key shooting information.”

Techradar reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“There are many things to like about the Fuji X20. Those with a penchant for the retro will find obvious charm here, while the number of direct access dials and buttons are a welcome factor for the more experienced photographer. Image quality is great too, which is of course an obvious plus point.”

Pocket-lint reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“the X20’s images are a sublime slice of imaging pie. The low ISO settings in both their raw and JPEG versions show off the camera’s sharp lens with fantastic amounts of detail. We’re really impressed.”

CNET reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“Video performance of the X20 was very good with sharp details and punchy colors. The camera’s continuous autofocus performed quite well with a gradual transition from near to infinity. The onboard stereo microphone also picked up ambient sounds clearly.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Expertreviews reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“The big changes have been made inside with an updated sensor and image processor. The sensor now includes phase detection autofocus, and it was incredibly quick as a result. The image processor has also been updated and it shows with faster shot-to-shot times and a new 12fps continuous mode.”

Ephotozine reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“the build quality and handling were excellent, with a solid feel and gorgeous design, with the silver and black two tone colour scheme looking particularly attractive. Focus and shutter response seemed quick in use, and the menus were easy to navigate.”

Imaging-resource reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“The X20’s lens incorporates a seven-diaphragm blade to produce a pleasing bokeh where in-focus subjects pop against a soft background. And it’s been treated with a multi-layer High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating for fighting ghosting and lens flare.”
rating: N/A

Thephoblographer reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“The X20 has a fast autofocus for a point and shoot and the visual confirmation in the viewfinder is absolutely wonderful. When I heard Fujifilm say this during the keynote, I became super excited. If anything, that may be why someone might upgrade to this camera.”
rating: N/A

Digitalcamerainfo reviews the Fujifilm X20 and writes;
“There’s just something unbeatable about a good optical viewfinder, even when it doesn’t have a true through-the-lens perspective. It’s just cooler than an electronic screen, especially on a small, fixed-lens camera, and the feel can’t be matched.”

Fujifilm X20 Features

The Fujifilm X20 combines the 12 megapixel 2/3″ X-Trans CMOS II sensor and an EXR Processor II which enables a sensitivity range to ISO 12800 and also gives quick performance abilities to all aspects of the camera to produce high images quality. Its sensor uses a unique randomized pixel array in order to avoid the use of a resolution-reducing optical low-pass filter, therefore providing images with the utmost sharpness and clarity. While the Intelligent Hybrid AF system ensures the camera is able to focus quickly and accurately.

This camera also allows users to use Full manual focusing by using the focus ring on the lens. It has built-in Fujinon 28-112mm f/2-2.8 Zoom Lens to help reduce aberrations and improve image sharpness and quality. There is an advanced optical viewfinder to provide real-time, eye-level monitoring with transparent Digital Trans Panel for displaying exposure and camera information over the optical viewfinder while adjusting the camera setting. A 2.8-inch also available on the rear of the camera for playback and review your photos and videos.

In addition, the Fujifilm X20 is able to record Full HD 1080 Video at 60fps with a 36Mbps bit-rate for clear, fluid-looking videos. You can control manually the camera to zoom and focus during recording, and audio levels, white balance settings, and Film Simulation modes can also be applied to refine the overall appearance of your movies.

By use Film Simulation modes, you can make both negative and slide films, and allow you to apply those films’ characteristics to your digital imagery to better suit your intended look. Additionally, the camera is equipped with Advanced Filters and Multiple Exposure to make artistic photography made fun and simple.
