Although it has a retro design, in the back of the camera has a button layout like digital camera. But he still has a big button on the manual aperture lenses including button-speed shutter and exposure compensation on top of the camera. Fn button on the top of the camera function to display the desired option ISO range. Performance & Image Quality

This camera has autofocus performance is much faster than the X100. Fujifilm X100S uses a hybrid AF system that combines contrast and phase detection method for generating faster autofocus in a variety of shooting situations. The camera spent 1.5 seconds to turn on, focus, and shoot. In light situations, the camera took 0.6 seconds to focus and shoot, but it will increase to 0.7 seconds in a dark situation.

Fujifilm X100S also comes with improvements in image quality better than the X100. The combination of 16 megapixel APS-C-sized X-Trans CMOS II sensor and an EXR Processor II image processor really makes this camera is capable of capturing images with amazing quality in JPEG format. The combination also proved capable of removing image noise up to high ISO.

Images look clean from noise start from ISO 800 to 1600, and even up to ISO 6400 you can still get a very good picture quality without noise images. If you are shooting with JPEG format, you can print up to size 13 x 9 without loss of image detail. The resulting color quality is also very enjoyable.

In addition to improved image quality, Fujifilm X100S also improve the video quality. You can record Full HD 1080 video at 60 frames per second with very sharp results. During video recording, you can adjust the focus manually including adjust the level of sound, White balance, and the Film Simulation modes.

Should I buy the camera?

With a price range of $1,299.00 – this camera is worth buying for those of you who want to get a very good camera with all the controls in your hand to capture high quality images. Fujifilm X100S has a lens which is very sharp and coupled with the aperture ring, viewfinder, and its responsive performance will make you more love this camera. Unfortunately, this camera is very expensive and not suitable for beginner photographers despite having a lot of money to buy it. There are two competitor that are worth considering before buying this camera, the Leica X2 and Nikon Coolpix A.
