Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD Reviews

TechReview reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“we found the 2.7-inch screen great for focusing and framing the image – and there’s also a regular viewfinder. The results from our test images were sharp and crisp and colour balance was bright. It also comes with a built-in flash.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

DevHardware reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“Fujifilm FinePix S200HD digital camera is one of the most impressive digital cameras I’ve come across. It contains everything that a beginner or intermediate photographer is looking for, as it’s cheap and highly functional. “

LetsGoDigital reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“it is an interesting camera, even more so if we take into consideration the enhanced HD functionality, yet, from a photography perspective, it is clear that the camera cannot keep up with the competition… “
Rating: ★★★½☆

ComputerActive reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“Pictures were a little soft and benefited from sharpening on the computer, while strong sunlight had a bleaching effect on exposures. Still, noise was well controlled up to ISO800 and just about usable at ISO1600.. Verdict: Good value camera if you want a large zoom but not brick-like weight”
Rating: ★★★★☆

GoodGearGuide reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“2000HD offers plenty of versatility in a bulky, albeit relatively easy-to-carry chassis. Give it a go if you want something that will let you take shots in almost any situation, but don’t expect spectacular image quality from it.”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

Tom’sGuide reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“The camera is fairly fast in its response to the shutter release and there is little to no annoying shutter lag, other than in lower-light conditions. The S2000HD does do what it says it can do, and the images are of average to good quality.”

Pocket-Lint reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“Between ISO 100 and 400 noise is well controlled, over ISO 800 things become more worrisome…”
Rating: ★★★★☆

TrustedReviews reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“Overall the S2000HD offers a lot of camera for the money, and is one of the most versatile super-zoom models on the market… “
Rating: ★★★★☆

Cameras.uk reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“The colours are too strong for my own personal taste and the camera also appears to have a problem with the balance of the colours…. although the HD movie mode may prove to be an attraction to many people. “
Rating: ★★★★☆

PhotographyBlog reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“It’s fun to use, delivers the results and even if, in the final analysis, they’re neither as sharp or as evenly exposed as some of the competition, overall they’re perfectly acceptable given the build and asking price.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

ePhotozine reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
“I’m disappointed in the noise results and the red-eye from the flash. The latter is something which people shouldn’t have to worry about these days yet here it is. I think it’s a standard camera and the only reason I think you may wish to buy it is for the HD quality video, if you’re going to use it.”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

CNET.uk reviews the Fujifilm S2000HD and writes;
We say low-light images are noise-affected rather than simply noisy, because the S2000HD actually does a decent job of keeping speckly noise out of pictures. “
Rating: ★★★½☆

I bought it because im a rather skint photography enthusiast, and Im begining to think, for me, it was a mistake, and I should have waited until times got better to get a DSLR instead. im having difficulty taking good shots that are nice and clear across the whole field, and also dont have noise and poor exposure in parts, because most of these do. Some pics look ok, but some quite honestly look like they’ve been taken on an OK mobile phone camera, which considering this cam sells for £179, is pretty bad.

On a plus side the HD video really is great and the mic is brilliant, and geenrally, if there is a blue sky and lots of detail and light, you can get an interesting still pic that people tend to like, but if there is a haze, your shooting in the direction of the sun, or with the sun on one side, and particualy if the sky has that white even, but bright cloud cover, the cam just doesnt produce good pics, no matter what you try to do with the settings, and the other thing is the lens isnt good enough quality.

Do not be put off this cam if your just in need of a camera for holiday pics that you intend to show to your family, as Im sure they’ll think they are great (or at least some of them will be)! But just dont get this if you have the idea that your going to get really good pictures out of it on a photography enthusiast level, because you’re probably almost certainly not.

I’ve just bought this cam and so far it seems quite nice for a general cam with a bit more “umph” than an entry level camera.
The video is saved just like the still pictures but with a different extension. It could be the program you’re using to download the files.
If you can see your photos on the SD Card, you should be able to see the movies as well.
Hope this helps
