There are many people debating on the pros and cons of such superzooms as the Finepix S2500HD but I have had one for one month and more than 2400 shots now and the truth is that for the $150-170 you get it, there's really little to complain.
Of course, this is not a four thirds, it's not a DSLR, or anything else that costs $300 or more. There are certain limitations that the tiny sensors these cameras are provided can not overcome, so if your priority is indoors HD video, or low light photography or sports photography, you either need to buy a camcoder or spend substantially more on a better camera.
But if you're the amateur kind with its price tag as a budget, few or no other models on the market will match this finepix and its 18x zoom, decent image quality and colors, combined with a solid image stabilization and flash that really makes a difference with compact cameras.
I have seen some peoples reviews complaining about short battery life, on the contrary, I am regularly getting about 450 shots out of the 500 specified for NI-MH cells, and this is with 4 (also used before) 2500 mah sonys and normal usage, which includes flash, lots of waiting, zooming and rezooming and heavy viewing/deleting.
