Nice small flash for the Fuji X100 and HS20
“The built-in flash of my Fujifilm FinePix X100 is great but weak. And its light is partially covered by the lens when shooting macro. So I tried the EF-20 and I’m very happy with this decision. It is pretty light and fully compatible with the camera’s TTL functions. With the guide number 20, TTL functions + EV adjustment, retractable wide panel, bounce lighting by turning the flash up to 90° it offers the same plus a lot more than the built-in flash. And you can even turn it down for macro shooting. Combined with the wide panel and an -1EV adjustment I got some pretty good close-ups. Combining a compact design and efficient controls, the Fujifilm EF-20 Flashgun is the ideal for carrying in a pocket or bag and providing any additional lighting.
The hotshoe folds cleverly into the flash body to minimise space and simply rotates out when required for use.
With the guide number 20 (ISO 100-m) and operating TTL with the FinePix X100 and HS20EXR cameras, the EF-20 provides superb lighting for each shot. The in-built wide panel diffuser provides effective flash distribution while EV adjustment can be made up +/-1.0EV in 5 steps (-1, -0.5, 0, +0.5, +1).
Powered by 2 AA batteries, the quick charge time of approx. 4 seconds keeps the EF-20 ready for use.
