Epson Stylus C88+ Reviews
PCWorld reviews the Epson Stylus C88+ and writes;
“In our performance tests, the C88 printed text pages at a reasonably swift 5.3 pages per minute. Color graphics printed slower than average, at 1.6 ppm. Our 5-by-7-inch color photo, printed at best quality on letter-sized photo paper took a tedious 3 minutes and 37 seconds.”
Epinions reviews the Epson Stylus C88+ and writes;
“Printing larger photos on glossy photo-quality paper produced much better results. The images looked clearer and I did not notice any graininess. The colors were consistently vivid and natural looking, and I am happy with the results. I would be much happier, however, if I could get the same level of quality using plain paper. “
Macworld reviews the Epson Stylus C88+ and writes;
“When printing our 8-by-10-inch test photo at the printer’s highest resolution, the C88 took a leisurely 26 minutes to print. The next-highest resolution setting brought the print speed down to a more reasonable 7 minutes and 18 seconds. There was a subtle difference in print quality, with the higher-resolution print looking a little clearer, sharper and showing more depth, but I doubt many people would find it worth the wait.”
Topreviewshop reviews the Epson Stylus C88+ and writes;
“Overall, I am satisfied with the Epson C88 Inkjet. At a reasonable cost, it provides high quality text and photo printing with useful print options. Separate ink cartridges allow you to purchase replacement ink only as needed. So far it has provided a lot of text printing without using a whole lot of ink, which is definitely a plus for those people who print a lot of plain documents.”

Happy Customer, | Rating:
“The Epson Stylus C88+ is a very good printer for me. I have the MSN TV2 computer, and the printers that you can use with this system, is limited. But you cannot do better than with the C88+. Good crisp printed document and the ability you have to print pictures is great, good clear 4+6 pictures. “ – by Johanna C. Jaspers
Dependable & Reliable printer, | Rating:
“Whenever shopping for a printer the first thing you should do is find out how much the ink cartridges are going to cost. The ink is where the most money is spent. Besides being dependable & reliable the cost of the ink is very reasonable.” – by M. Lopez
Espon printer – great output for the $$$$ | Rating:
“I have had many of the C80 series and they all have been great. They don’t last all that long, but for the money totally worth it. I am replacing an Epson R320 that I HATED. This is working out much better.” – by Elizabeth M. Maher

“I have owned an Epson C-88+ for several years had a lot ou use now I have a new one, reason being I like the quality of print & the individual ink cartriges. Don’t like duel purpose printers scanners etc” – by James W. Raynor Jr.
Overpriced old printer, | Rating:
“These were great printers 3-5 years ago when every big box store & office supply chain across the country had them for $49. Now everyone’s trying to cram the all in one contraptions down our throat. If your scanner or fax goes out on these things you have to pitch the whole thing, ’cause no one will look at them when they act up. So, if you are lucky to find one of these older Epson C88 printers, buy one, because they just don’t make them like they use to! “ – by T. Ryan
True colors, quiet operation, | Rating:
“The Epson C88+ will warn you of a low ink, but gives you the option to continue, so you can squeeze out one or two more pages before you replace the cartridge. I like the gauges on the screen that show you just how much of each cartridge is left. This printer is much quieter than my old HP, and makes wonderful glossy prints. For the price, this is an excellent printer! “ – by W. D. Johnson
excellent for web use, | Rating:
“picture quality is excellent when the media being copied is high quality. when the image being copied is compressed or of low quality it’s wysiwyg. text printing is supperior to others of the same type.” – by M. mcdade
my 2nd c88 stylus printer, | Rating:
“I owned a c88 stylus for more then 3.5 yrs and was very satisfied with it. then one day it wouldn’t print anymore. So i bought another c88 stylus, that is how much i like it. For the $84.00 i paid for it, that comes out to be just $24.00 per yr. a lot of my printing is in draft mode(uses about 25% less ink) but for important stuff i use text mode.” – by Joseph J. Barkett

DURABrite Ultra pigment ink
The Epson C88+ uses DURABrite Ultra ink, a revolutionary, pigment-based ink that delivers superior image quality for all kinds of projects.
With revolutionary DURABrite Ultra ink, users can achieve remarkable results on glossy photo paper, matte paper and even plain copy paper. With such exceptional quality and versatility, DURABrite Ultra ink offers the ideal solution for nearly any printing project, from high quality enlargements to everyday text and graphics. Double-sided prints look great because the ink will not bleed through. And, when you use Epson Premium Presentation Paper Double-sided Matte, you can make your own professional-looking brochures.
Like all Epson ink, DURABrite Ultra features a quick-drying formula that enables you to touch documents and photos right after printing–without any messy smudging. With worry-free handling, you can share prints immediately, unlike those printed with some competitive inks that smudge easily and take several minutes to dry.
The special formulation of DURABrite Ultra ink also offers fade resistant properties that exceed those of photo lab prints, as well as those printed on many competitive products. In fact, with this remarkable ink, photos can resist fading up to 100 years!
Your prints will be water resistant on all supported papers (even plain paper!). Because DURABrite Ultra ink is pigment-based, ink particles will not dissolve if they come into contact with water. So, prints resist smearing or accidental damage by spills or moisture.
Paper handling capacity
The Epson C88+ has a high-capacity, 120-sheet input tray that holds various paper sizes, up to 8.5″ x 14″.
The printer can be connected to multiple computers using its built-in USB and parallel ports. Plus, it can switch between ports automatically. The Epson C88+ can also be connected to different platforms simultaneously, including Macintosh and Windows-based systems.
1. Pages per minute (ppm) speed measured after first page, based on black and color text patterns in Draft Mode on plain paper. Additional print time will vary based on system configuration, software application and page complexity. See www.epson.com/printspeed for more information about print speed.
2. Fade resistance rating is based on accelerated testing of prints on specialty media, displayed indoors under glass or UV filter. Actual print stability will vary according to media, printed image, display conditions, light intensity, humidity and atmospheric conditions. Epson does not guarantee longevity of prints. For maximum print life, display all prints under glass or UV filter or properly store them. Visit www.wilhelm-research.com for the latest information.
