Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition Reviews

Digitaltrends reviews the Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition and writes;
“PictureMate prints a pretty picture. Detail is sharp, color is true and the prints are as impressive as those from any photo printer I’ve seen. PictureMate won’t win a speed race but it’s fine for low-volume printing. Although Epson listed a time of 75 seconds for a 4 x 6″ print, the 1.7 MB image I printed clocked in at 1:36. Epson boasts that the prints can withstand a dousing of water and indeed they did under my faucet test. That would be good for printing at a party, where suds can wind up on anything.”

CNET reviews the Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition and writes;
“Epson has speeded up printing a bit, but the PictureMate Deluxe still takes about 75 seconds to output a 4×6-inch print directly and 96 seconds via a PC. The printer’s 2.5-picoliter ink droplets produced sharp, colorful prints with smooth gradients and only faint horizontal banding.”

Laptopmag reviews the Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition and writes;
“Shots are easily viewed on the bright 2.5-inch LCD, and you can watch a slideshow to help you decide which photos to print. The quality ran a close second to conventional prints from a lab and the HP Photosmart 375. Its perfect when you need an image instantly, but in our head-to-head comparison, the prints were a little grainy and oversaturated compared to the Photosmart 375. Colors looked sharp, but backgrounds were a little pixilated.”

User Opinions

Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition User Reviews

Great photo printer
“I was looking for a small photo printer for my parents for Christmas. I did my research and read the reviews, and bought this printer for them. Then, I liked the printer so much that I bought one for myself. No need to say more except to say that I agree with most of the 5 start ratings comments I’ve read. I use it more than my large photo inkjet printer, simply because when I just want to quickly print great looking 4x6in. waterproof and fade-proof pictures, this printer is so easy and convenient to use. “ – by John S.

Epson Does It Again
“Once again, Epson has developed a fine product. This very User-friendly photo printer has a plethora of capabilities to ensure the print meets the expectations of the User. It is compact, of course, and its excellent portability makes it a “Must-Have” for the enthusiast who wants to produce prints for friends within minutes of the takes at any venue. Super item at a reasonable price. “ – by Mickey Raton

“The Deluxe is simple to use and prints quality photographs. Because of the pigment ink, the prints truly are water and smudge proof. I’ve had mine for over a year and just bought one for my mother before all the deluxe versions are gone. Not interested in the newer models as are not the same quality. My grandmother also just bought this printer as she really likes mine.” – by Milicent C. Truran

Buy this
“The prints are superb. Very clear and sharp This one got the best reviews for print quality in all the research I did before buying. If you do print borderless, you get some automatic cropping, so you get a little bit trimmed off the edges of the picture. The same thing would happen if you printed via Kodak or Snapfish, etc. because, the aspect ratio of your digital camera is different from the 4×6 aspect ratio of this paper.Meaning the actual size of your picture your camera takes is different from 4×6, height to width, so some cropping is necessary. “ – by Mac Maven

Awesome Printer
“I’ve had this printer for over a year and it has been fantastic. I take it with me to family and other events where I take a number of pictures with my Nikon D50. I then print out the best pictures and give them to the people there. They are amazed at the quality and love getting them while at the event. It’s not the fastest printer out there but it’s a lot faster than going to a photo finisher or ordering online. At less than $0.30 a print it’s a great deal. I highly recommend this printer. “ – by Phillip Nelson

Big Performance for a Little Machine
“When the machine arrived I took one look at the size of the box (small)and figured I’d be trying to put the thing together for the next week! What a pleasant surprise…a completely ready-to-go machine , small in stature (about 5″x 10″) but big in performance! I loved the simplicity (I am no techno wizard!)and easy to follow instructions! In less than 2 minutes I had printed a fantastic photo! It was a better print than the ones I have done at a local store. For the price, it is a great deal! “ – by C. R. Licastro

Dependable Printer with Great Picture Quality
“It worked perfectly right out of the box, and have never had any problems with clogged heads. Sometimes I let it sit for almost a month before using it, and I keep it in a somewhat dusty/hairy environment, and it has still worked every time. The picture quality is great. I don’t use Epson’s software to print, I print through the Photoshop dialogue box on my computer, so I can’t really comment on that function. I get more than 100 photos out of each printer cartridge, so I actually end up having extra cartridges rather than paper. “ – by C. Huddleston

Works Well
“I am very excited about using this printer. It just arrived today and I printed one picture. The picture appears just as it should – bright, colorful, and looks like a quality print. This is much better than going to a store to have it printed.” – by JoiB
