Beyond understanding how to read it, it’s also important to understand why and when do we need the model release form .
I just finished my own research on the topic, and from what i understand, by law, we are only required to use it when the photo intended for commercial use, but to be on the safe side, it is recommended to always sign one. it’s a waiver from future “troubles”.
there is the short standard version for the form (as published here : model release explained ), but sometimes you will need something more specific to the task, and should change it to cover the occasion .

Hi,

Thanks for the sharing your info.

Just wondering, the contract state well the protection for the photographer, but, for the stand point of the model, how could this contract be modified so that the photo can’t be used in conjunction with violating the models reputation, for example a photo used but published under pornographic manner.

Thank you for the model contract. I have used a watered down contract for several years, this one is much better!
