Photoshop Tutorial: Ray of Lights Effect

Photoshop Tutorial

10. Redo steps 2-9 to create the other lights

11. Duplicate your layer, give it a proper name.

12. Lock your new layer

Photoshop Tutorial

13. Change the foreground color to black (D)

14. Fill the new layer with black (alt+D)

15. Change the new layer mode to overlay, and change the opacity to 64%

Photoshop Tutorial

16. Rotate your new layer a bit by choosing edit>transform>rotate

and that’s it.

If you need to delete some part your new ray of lights, you might want to use the layer mask.

Here’s again the final result.

love it, only that the sun can’t do that if it’s not behind the clouds, if you think about it. the rays are a result of the sunlight hitting the clouds. so you should maybe include how to lower the sun?

it’s just fine, the sun can do that, thinking about it realy brings me to a conclusion that the sun would never be in front of any cloud on earth.

Its nice, but the rays are a result of the clouds blocking the sun so that they get silver on their edges, it will be nice to see the dark clouds getting silvered on their edges + the rays…..
What a pic will that be????
