Olympus has announced the E-3! - Go to Olympus E-3 Reviews
Olympus has unveiled the E-3 (previously introduced as P-1) at a Korean Photoshow. Rumor has it that the long awaited Olympus E-3 will be announced as soon as October/November 2007 in the US.
It looks like the camera will feature a pop-out LCD screen (a very handy feature for shooting photos above one’s head or down by the ground), Live view, pop-up flash, an optional battery grip, and uses the four-Thirds lens mount system.

The US specifications, price and availability for the Canon EOS 40D have been leaked by the biggest online retailer, Amazon.com. They have removed the page now, but you can still see the saved screenshot below;

It looks like the EOS40D will be available at Amazon on September 10th for US$1,299
Rumor: Sony A200 & New Sony Lens Range
The PhotoclubAlpha has a new article on the successor of The Sony A100 DSLR camera. The camera now about to be released is the APS-C version named Sony (Alpha) A200 as seen below.
A number of 35mm full-frame lenses are also expected as there are rumors that Sony will launch a high-end full frame or 1.1x DSLR camera (codename Alpha 300) in 2008.

Let’sGoDigital has posted product pictures of the new Sony Alpha DSLR cameras;
“According to my information the new semi professional Sony Alpha model incorporates a newly developed image sensor and BIONZ processor achieving high level total picture quality. The new Alpha SLR features in camera image stabilization and is targeted to meet the higher demands for performance and specification requirements of high amateur photographers. I would be surprised if we don’t see this new Sony Alpha digital SLR camera being introduced before the holiday season!”

Olympus has released photos from the forthcoming successor of Olympus E-1, currently known as the Olympus P-1. The P-1 features will include Live View, a pop out LCD screen and an optional battery grip.

DSLR-Forum: “The 22 MP [of the MkIII] include the pixels not used for the actual picture. The effective number of pixels of the 1Ds Mark III is 20,67MP. The 40d has an effective pixelcount of 10,32 MP, that means a little more than the 400D.”
Kakaku: “1Ds Mark II successor would be released as having the dust reduction, 22MP sensor, and, larger LCD. The price is around 900,000 yen that is almost the same price as the 1Ds Mark II from his friend that is a professional camera man. The release timing is May. “
TheOnlinePhotographer: “The last shoot had a Canon rep come by with the new 22MP digi demo body. It is half the size of the 1Ds Mark II. They said they are hustling to make lenses that will work with what this body can resolve. They may even make a new mount again for an entirely new lens design. It won’t be out before Phot Show East.”

Olympus Introduces a Successor to Its Olympus E-1
Olympus intends to introduce a successor to its Olympus E-1 “designed-for-digital” SLR camera, launched in 2003. The Olympus E-System currently includes five camera bodies and 17 Zuiko Digital lenses. Olympus has stated that future plans include a flagship model aimed at working professionals.
Mock-up images of the new professional model have been released.

It looks like Nikon is ready to launch a new compact DSLR Camera which will sit nicely at the bottom end of Nikon’s DSLR cameras.

Aving.net, a Korean consumer electronics website, have posted some photos of the new 10 megapixel Pentax *ist D SLR which was presented by Donwon Systems, a Korean retailer of Pentax at Seoul Int’l Photo & Imaging Industry Show 2006.

One of the Canon Talk forum members has posted a print-screen from Canon Spain which mentions the Canon EOS 30D on their product list.

DChome forum has a new thread about the rumor of the Canon EOS 30D, which will replace Canon EOS 20D. It’s said that the new Canon EOS 30D will have 10.1MP, 21 points AF, 7 fps, still 1.6x, with DIGIC II with better noise reduction at ISO 800 or higher, and the camera will also come in a little smaller body design.
The launch date would be 21st of Feb 2006, let’s all wait and see..
