The Creative Zone - Pushing Your Own Limits
Over the years of learning about photography certain lessons stick out in my mind. One of these was the Mailbox Assignment. The assignment was simple; 36 shots of a mailbox. It had to be the same mailbox, oh, and by the way . . . each shot had to be uniquely different. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, let’s see . . . there is front, back, left side, right side, shot from above, or shot from below. That’s six, only thirty more shots to go.

An Eye by Gloel
You could shoot with the flag up or the flag down, or shoot just the flag itself. You could shoot with the mailbox door open or closed or somewhere in between. Congratulations! You are now up to twelve shots, only twenty four more to go. You could shoot with a little mail in the box, or a whole lot of mail, or somewhere in between. As you can see the first 15 or even 20 shots aren’t that hard, but they aren’t the point of the assignment.

Better pictures - Introducing the Progress Journal
Contributing to ‘MyShutterspace’ has been a real eye-opener for me. Not only have I met some really nice genuine people I’ve come to realize my worst fears about the way the average amateur photographer approaches the craft. Or should I say, stumbles into it. I am more convinced now than I ever was, that the approach to photography by amateurs is totally wrong.

In a word or two they start holding the wrong end of the stick. I’m excluding those who want to take ‘snaps’ of the new baby, the dog or the Xmas party. If you happened fit in this category this post is not aimed directly at you, although you are welcome to read on. On the other hand you can toddle off and play among yourselves and snap to your heart’s content. Good on you.
How To Use Light in Photography
To achieve good results in making photos with different light sources you need firstly to get acquainted with the photo camera’s manual regime and secondly to forget about automatic regimes. While making outdoor portrait photos in build flash can improve the photo. In cloudy weather the photo becomes more bright and saturate. It sunny day the use of flash allows to avoid deep shadows.
Light (5) by Sawan (profile)
Probably the best lighting for outdoor portrait photos is dispersed light in cloudy weather. Also the problem photographers frequently meet with is the shortage of light in room. In build flash application is not the best way to increase lighting.
