Book Review: Digital Restoration from Start to Finish
PPMag has published a new book review. This time the site reviews Digital Restoration from Start to Finish by Ctein;

“Naturally, repairing scratches, tears and other physical damage are covered as well. To round out the workflow, Ctein devotes a few chapters to outputting and archiving prints and files. Although well-illustrated, with legible screenshots and real-world photographic examples (available online so you can follow along), the book is extremely text-heavy. I enjoy Ctein’s writing—both its style and content—but sometimes found it difficult to get to the exact steps I needed to take in Photoshop to make a correction.”
Photography Book Review: Digital Photography Expert Techniques
PPMag have a review of a photography book titled Digital Photography Expert Techniques by Ken Milburn where they write;

“The heart of the book consists of the creative techniques such as using nondestructive adjustment to optimize images and create remarkable compositions. The copy takes you through the process of repairing specific types of image defects as well as different types of optimization techniques. For example, tools like the healing brush, the patch tool and the cloning tool are all explained in detail… There are several authors whose books I generally try to look at when they first come out or are revised. For some reason, Milburn hadn’t been on that list. After taking a closer look at “Digital Photography Expert Techniques,” that’s an oversight I’m going to correct.”

Busch, author of the Nikon D70 Digital Field guide, among 80 others, to write a book dedicated to shooting photographs while traveling, one of the most popular photographic pursuits of all time. Written as a field guide rather than focusing on a particular application, Digital Travel Photography Digital Field Guide not only helps you to prepare your equipment for the rigors of travel, but also gives valuable tips as you shoot a variety of subjects.”
