London, 23 January 2012. Kata has announced a photography contest with theme “Take a Shot” which combines a love of photography with KATA’s high quality products. The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) from January 5 to February 16, 2012 organizes the IFES 2012 photography contest. This competition invites amateur and professional photographers to compete in this competition with democracy theme that show images of individuals taking part in the electoral process or other activities that demonstrate the values of democratic governance and citizen engagement. The contest consists of two categories: one open to the public and another open exclusively to current and former IFES employees. While the winner of each category will receive US$600.
The Vienna International Photo Awards (VIPA) are now open to professionals, amateurs and students photographers from any country to compete in their competition. The VIPA 2012 Photo Competition is focused on documentary photo-reportage like social, cultural, political or environmental issues. Voies Off has invites photographers participate on 2012 Voies Off Prize Photo Contest. The photo contest has been organized for the past 17 years and the prize has been awarded by a jury of renowned professionals to an artist for the clarity of his vision and the high quality of his work. Leica invites professional photographers to participate in the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2012, an international photography competition. Each photographers can be submit their entries between January 16 and March 1, 2012. The winner of the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2012 will receive a Leica M9-P camera with lens worth approximately €10,000 (approximately US $14,000) in addition to a cash prize of €5,000. A second honor will be awarded in the category ‘Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award’, for (aspiring) professional photographers aged 25 and under. The winner of the first prize in this section will also be awarded a Leica M9-P complete with lens.
