Kodak Easyshare V570

Kodak hasreleased the new Kodak Easyshare V570, a world’s first dual-lens digital camera with two ccd’s. The first lens will do a job as prime 23mm equiv field of view, while the second lens is a 37-117mm three times optical zoom. Both lens systems are mated to a 5 MP CCD sensor. The camera also has 2.5-inch, high resolution LCD screen, with in-camera distortion correction to compensate for ultra-wide angle fish-eye effects that can be turned on or off.

Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 (announced on 26.04.06) is the world’s first 10.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera powered by a large 1/1.8 inch format, high resolution CCD. The camera featuring a 3x optical zoom, and a 2.8-inch LCD screen. It’s measuring 3.62″ (W) x 2.30″ (H) x .88″ (D), weighing approximately 4.9 oz and running on Rechargeable lithium ion battery (NP-40). The Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 is expected to be available in June 2006 at an MSRP of $399.

Adobe Announces Photoshop CS3 Extended

Microsoft Formally Announces HD Photo

Microsoft has formally announced HD Photo at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) 07 International Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas. The Microsoft HD photo (formerly called Windows Media Photo) offers up to twice the efficency of the JPEG but with the same high quality images.

The comparison above shows how well JPEG, JPEG 2000 and Microsoft’s HD Photo compress the upper-left image. The more colors that show, the more the compressed version varies from the original–so a perfect job would be completely black. Each compressed image is one-eighth the file size of the original.
