2012 IFES Photography Contest
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) from January 5 to February 16, 2012 organizes the IFES 2012 photography contest. This competition invites amateur and professional photographers to compete in this competition with democracy theme that show images of individuals taking part in the electoral process or other activities that demonstrate the values of democratic governance and citizen engagement. The contest consists of two categories: one open to the public and another open exclusively to current and former IFES employees. While the winner of each category will receive US$600.

VIPA 2012 Photo Competition
The Vienna International Photo Awards (VIPA) are now open to professionals, amateurs and students photographers from any country to compete in their competition. The VIPA 2012 Photo Competition is focused on documentary photo-reportage like social, cultural, political or environmental issues. The participants can be submit a single photo or a series which related to the focusing competition. The prizes of the competition are 1st prize €4.000, 2nd prize €2.000, and 3rd prize €1.000.
