Sony CyberShot DSC-W70 - Review @ DPInterface
DPInterface have recently published a review of the Sony CyberShot DSC-W70, a 7.20 megapixel CCD sensor point-and-shoot digital camera with 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 38 - 114mm ), and 2.5″ LCD screen display.

“Well, no problem up till ISO 400. Things are sharp and colors look natural. At ISO 800, the colors look less vivid but noise is still fairly low. At ISO 1000, there’s quite a bit more noise and things are smudgy. There was chromatic aberration (Color fringing) throughout the range.Barrel and pincushion distortion were both not very evident. Red-eye was in some people photos though. The image quality of the Sony Cyber-shot W70 is very good though at ISO 1000, things look less usable compared to that of the W50.”

Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 - Review @ ImagingResource
ImagingResource have recently published a review of the Sony Cybershot DSC-H2, a 6.0 megapixel CCD sensor point-and-shoot digital camera featuring a 6.0 megapixel CCD sensor, a huge 12x optical zoom (equivalent to 36 - 432mm), and a 2.5″ LCD screen display.

“Typical of consumer digicams, the Sony DSC-H2 does tend to oversharpen its image a bit, but exposure is usually quite good, with or without flash. Sharpness can be adjusted in the menu, as can contrast and saturation, so the user has some control over how the camera renders its images. Actually, “control” is probably the best way to describe the Sony H2, because it offers a very simple interface, yet perhaps the most control over light gathering of any camera in Sony’s lineup. It’s that huge focal range that gives you such a feeling of power: With just the press of a button, you’re suddenly all the way across the house to where junior is making a silly face, and you’re more likely to get a sharp shot with the help of the Super SteadyShot.”

Sony Cybershot DSC-W30 - Review @ CamerasUK
Cameras.co.uk have just recently posted a review of the Sony CyberShot DSC-W30, a 6.0 megapixel (CCD) point-and-shoot digital camera with Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x optical zoom lens (38 - 114mm equivalent), and a 2.0″ LCD Screen.

“The outdoor landscape shots are good without ever quite achieving the highest marks. Colours are strong and the camera does a good job of handling contrast in the lightest and darkest areas of each shot. The sharpness of a shot is one of the most critical factors in my opinion. Here the camera does well compared to many others, but does not quite challenge the better compact models. In fairness when you consider the price and design of this camera I think perhaps I am expecting too much of it. “

Sony Cybershot DSC-S600 - Review @ Cameras.co.uk
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 has been reviewed at Cameras.co.uk. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 is a 6.0 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera with 3x optical zoom (31-93mm) and and 2″ LCD screen.

“Starting with the outdoor landscape type shots I have no major complaints. Focusing is good and there is only minimal loss of sharpness as you move out away from the centre of each photo. Areas of contrast are handled well and the camera handles dark and light areas without much of a problem. It also copes with glare from the sun too… The indoor portrait is excellent. With many cameras at the lower price end of the market you find indoor and lowlight photography is a serious weakness. The DSC S600 produces a well focused and well lit shot. There is a touch of red eye, but this is actually less than the majority of digital cameras tend to produce. “

Sony CyberShot DSC-W70 - Review @ DigitalCameraReview
DigitalCameraReview have recently published a review of the Sony CyberShot DSC-W70, a 7.20 megapixel CCD sensor point-and-shoot digital camera with 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 38 - 114mm ), and 2.5″ LCD screen display.

“The W70 demonstrated very good image quality. I was lucky enough to be able to take a stroll around the University of Notre Dame campus on a beautiful spring day with the camera. It handled a wide variety of lighting conditions very well — sunlight filtering through leaves, shadowy entrances to various buildings, and long shots with a lot of blue sky.
The camera’s automatic white balance handled mixed lighting very well. Color representation was also good. Reds were a bit oversaturated, in my opinion, but skin tones were not too ruddy. The flash did a good job of illuminating things indoors. The claimed flash range of almost 14 feet was demonstrated well.”

Sony CyberShot DSC-W50 - Review @ ImagingResource
ImagingResource have reviewed the Sony CyberShot DSC-W50, a 6.0 megapixel (CCD) point-and-shoot digital camera with Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x optical zoom lens (38 - 114mm equivalent), and a 2.5″ LCD Screen.

“Exposure remains under automatic control, something novices will appreciate, and its seven preprogrammed scene modes help with more tricky subjects. It’s a very responsive camera, with low shutter lag in daylight conditions, and excellent shot to shot speeds. It also sports very good battery life, a very capable movie mode, and excellent download speed. Finally, Sony makes a line of accessory lenses, filters, a slave flash, and even an underwater case for it as well, greatly expanding your options beyond what you’d normal expect from a compact digicam model. The bright 2.5-inch color LCD monitor is excellent for framing and reviewing shots, and the overall design and layout of the W50 is user-friendly and hassle-free. If you’re looking for a good “take anywhere” camera with great versatility and good color and tonality, the Sony DSC-W50 deserves a close look.”

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50 - Review @ Cameras.co.uk
Cameras.co.uk have recently published a reviewe of the Sony CyberShot DSC-W50, a 6.0 megapixel (CCD) point-and-shoot digital camera with Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x optical zoom lens (38 - 114mm equivalent), and a 2.5″ LCD Screen.

“Both the indoor and outdoor portraits have many good points. The images are clear and sharply focused. This really does apply to the indoor portrait where the shot is a lot sharper than I have managed with most digital cameras I have tested. The DSC W50 does a very good job in bringing out the detail in the shot… The macro shot is o.k. If you are planning to use this camera for the occasional macro shot then you should be able to produce some very acceptable photos.”

Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 - Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a review of the Sony Cybershot DSC-H2, a 6.0 megapixel CCD sensor point-and-shoot digital camera featuring a 6.0 megapixel CCD sensor, huge 12x optical zoom (equivalent to 36 - 432mm), and a 2.5″ LCD screen display.

“We like the DSC-H2’s photos and movie capture quality. It renders natural, accurate colors, with just the right saturation. Manual white balance yields the most neutral results, though the tungsten setting was a very close second under our test lights. Exposures were generally accurate. Moderate purple fringing turned up where you’d expect in high-contrast areas. Noise is minimal at ISO 80 and ISO 100 and becomes noticeable at ISO 200. By ISO 400, noise is very obvious, and at ISO 800 and ISO 1,000, the images become unacceptable for print.”
