Ricoh has announced the release of their latest firmware updates for Ricoh Caplio R3 and Ricoh GR Digital. The new firmware version 1.09 will improve the exposure level when using Sigma external flashes with Ricoh GR Digital. While the new Ricoh Caplio R3 firmaware version 1.29 will improve the stability at turning on the camera.

Ricoh has recently announced their new firmware upgrade for Caplio R3, 5.1 MP digital camera with 7.1x optical zoom. The new firmware will improve accuracy of the AF algorithm in the macro mode and improve accuracy of the vibration correction function.

Ricoh announces the launch of the Caplio R3 compact digital camera. This new model features a 7.1x optical wide zoom - the largest in its class * – and a vibration correction function.

With a smaller body, the new Caplio R3, has a 7.1x (28—200 mm) wide-angle, high-powered zoom lens - the biggest in its class. The lens was created by adopting the newly developed Double Retracting Lens System, an advance on the highly successful Retracting Lens System, the original lens storage system engineered by Ricoh for its innovative products. Moreover, to address blurred images caused by hand movement inherent to long focal ranges, the Caplio R3 avoids this problem in telephoto, macro, or indoor shots with the addition of a vibration correction function.
