Olympus FE-130 - Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a review of the Olympus FE-130, a 5.1 megapixels (CCD) point-and-shoot digital camera with 3x optical zoom (equiv. to 38-114mm on a 35mm camera), 20 scene modes (incl. Sports, Indoor, Night Scene), 22MB internal memory plus xD-Picture Card slot, and 2.0″ LCD Screen.

“Image quality was acceptable, though the Olympus FE-130’s extremely limited settings meant we couldn’t put it through the rigorous array of tests most cameras endure. It captured colors accurately, and to our pleasant surprise, the automatic white balance produced a relatively neutral picture under incandescent lights, without the yellow pall most cameras display.”

Olympus FE-115 - Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a review of the Olympus FE-115, a 5.0 megapixels (CCD) point-and-shoot digital camera featuring a 2.8x optical zoom (equiv. 38-106mm on 35mm cameras) and 1.5″ TFT LCD monitor.

“…the Olympus FE-115 produces uneven image quality. Its automatic white balance manages to neutralize incandescent lighting accurately, without the yellowish pall produced by many cameras. Unfortunately, heavy JPEG compression artifacts ended up obscuring fine details from many of our field-test images. Our lab shots seemed noise-free, but since we couldn’t manually select the ISO, we couldn’t run it through our usual gamut of noise tests.”

Olympus Mju 700 Digital - Review @ LetsGoDigital
LetsGoDigital have posted a review of the Olympus Mju 700, a 7.1 megapixels point-and-shoot digital camera featuring ‘BrightCapture Technology’ which will allow you to take perfectly exposed shot in low light withouth having to use flash, a weatherproof metal body with 3x optical zoom (37-111mm equivalent) and a large 2.5″ LCD Screen.

“The Olympus Mju 700 gives you good image quality, the colour reproduction is fine and the user friendly operation is a joy to experience. The quality of the automatic white balance pictures is very good and hardly need to be corrected. The integrated pre-programmed scène modes make it much easier to take complicated pictures. The built-in Help function in particular is a welcome alternative to ploughing through an instruction manual.”

Olympus Mju Digital 810 - Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a review of the Olympus Mju Digital 810, a 8.0 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera featuring BrightCapture Technology for brighter LCD and better images in low light including a special mode to reduce possible image blur, 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 35 – 105mm lens in 35mm format), and 2.6″ TFT LCD screen.

“Image quality was generally good, with lots of detail in both highlights and shadows, and we noticed fewer JPEG artifacts than we’ve seen in other recent compact cameras. Highlights tended to blow out, and we saw textbook examples of lateral chromatic aberrations: well-defined cyan and magenta ghost images, respectively, to the left and the right of high-contrast subjects. Noise is the biggest problem with the Olympus Stylus 810. Quite visible by ISO 400, it added a distinct texture to most images at ISO 800 and above.”

Olympus Mju Digital 810 - Review @ Steve’sDigicams
Steve’sDigicams have recently published a review of the Olympus Mju Digital 810, a 8.0 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera featuring BrightCapture Technology for brighter LCD and better images in low light including a special mode to reduce possible image blur, 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 35 – 105mm lens in 35mm format), and 2.6″ TFT LCD screen.

“The overall image quality when using the SHQ mode is good for an 8-megapixel model. When shooting outdoors, it produced pleasing photos that were sharp and well exposed. did notice some purple fringing (aka chromatic aberration) present around extremely lit objects. However, image noise was very low when the ISO was set to 200 or lower, becoming more noticeable when the sensitivity is increased…I found this model did very well in the portrait department, producing images that showed sharp facial detail and natural skin tones. When shooting indoors however, you will have to work within the limits of the flash.”

Olympus Mju Digital 720 SW - Review @ CNET Asia
CNET Asia have recently posted a review of the Olympus Mju Digital 720 SW, a 7.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera featuring water-proof (JIS level 8 - allowing it to be up to 110 feet underwater) & shock-proof (to MIL-STD-810F standards - dropable up to 1.5m) metal body with 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 38-114mm) and 2.5″ TFT LCD screen.

“We didn’t encounter any major issues with image quality. There were occasional purple fringing in some of our backlit pictures and barrel distortions that made our buildings look slightly curved, but overall the images were saturated and provided a good amount of details. As usual, noise became an issue beyond ISO 400, but at ISO 800 we reckoned this wasn’t dire still for small 4 x 6-inch printouts. You can select up to a maximum sensitivity level of ISO 1,600, though you won’t be using it much since image quality suffers from a barrage of noise. “

CNEt have recently published a review of the Olympus Mju Digital 720 SW, a 7.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera featuring water-proof (JIS level 8 - allowing it to be up to 110 feet underwater) & shock-proof (to MIL-STD-810F standards - dropable up to 1.5m) metal body with 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 38-114mm) and 2.5″ TFT LCD screen.

“..picture quality is acceptable but prone to noticeable amounts of visual noise; as is common, noise increases with the ISO..The Olympus Stylus 720 SW’s combination of resolution and waterproof durability are, to date, unparalleled for a camera of this size and class. For adventurous types, those benefits will probably outweigh issues with usability and middling indoor image quality.”

Olympus SP-320 - Review @ DigitalCameraReview
Digital Camera Review have posted a review of the Olympus SP-320 (announced 26.02.06), a 7.1 megapixels point-and-shoot digital camera with 3x optical zoom (equiv. 38-114mm) and a Large 2.5″ LCD screen. They recommend the camera and write;

” The Olympus SP-320 is a good choice for someone looking for camera with advanced features (RAW, aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual modes) but who still has a pretty tight budget. At a street price under $300, the SP-320 stays affordable for such “advanced” features. The camera takes high quality images with good color and detail. It’s also easy to use, yet still has plenty of customizability with custom shortcuts and the ability to set up to four custom modes. Battery life is good, if you can handle some of the power management issues that I’ve brought up (cycle time and LCD black out after batteries have discharged a bit). “
