Olympus Mju Digital 720 SW - Review @ TrustedReviews
TrustedReviews have recently posted a review of the Olympus Mju Digital 720 SW, a 7.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera featuring water-proof (JIS level 8 - allowing it to be up to 110 feet underwater) & shock-proof (to MIL-STD-810F standards - dropable up to 1.5m) metal body with 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 38-114mm) and 2.5″ TFT LCD screen.

“I also found image quality to be lower than I had expected, especially considering the excellent results I’ve had from previous mju series cameras. The lens is slower than on previous models, and is distinctly soft toward the edges of the frame, especially at the wide angle setting where there is also appreciable barrel distortion. Images look over-processed, and even in bright sunlight and at ISO 100 there is visible noise and colour speckling, although oddly high ISO performance is comparatively good. “

Olympus Evolt E-330 - Review @ DigitalCameraInfo
DigitalCameraInfo has recently posted a review of the Olympus Evolt E-330, a 7.5 megapixel MOS sensor Digital SLR with Live View feature which enables you for framing of shots without the need to look through the view finder.

“We tested the EVOLT E-330 in low light settings ranging from 60 lux, which is enough light to read by comfortably, to 30, 15 and 5 lux. 5 lux is about the light level in a room lit by one of two candles, and is challenging for any digital camera. We set the E-330 to ISO 400 and shot at a range of shutter speeds. We test many DSLRs at ISO 1600, but chose not to do that with the E-330 because Olympus warns that its settings above 400 are an extended range and the manual has reservations about image quality at the highest ISOs.”

Olympus SP-500 UZ - Review @ Let’sGoDigital
Let’sGoDigital have posted their review of the Olympus SP-500 UZ, a 6 megapixel digital camera with a huge 10x optical zoom and 2.5″ LCD screen.

“The optical zoom lens works very well indeed. There is only a very light degree of distortion, but in general it performed well above average. The focussing also works well and the camera aims accurately thanks to the presence of an AF assistance illuminator. The colour reproduction is true to life and the automatic white balance works like a dream; it really is excellent. The noise ratio is fine throughout the entire ISO series and is great for high quality prints. Being able to save pictures in the RAW format gives the user the best materials for processing the picture to get it just right. “

Olympus Evolt E-330 - Review @ TrustedReviews
TrustedReviews have recently posted a review of the Olympus Evolt E-330, a 7.5 megapixel MOS sensor Digital SLR with Live View feature which enables you for framing of shots without the need to look through the view finder.

“Performance-wise, the E-330 is a bit of a mixture. Its start-up time is about two seconds, rather slower than the effectively instant start up times of most DSLRs. It can shoot 10 shots in around six seconds in SQ quality mode and continuous shooting, somewhat slower than the 3fps claimed in Olympus’ press materials.”

Olympus SP-320 - Review @ Steve’sDigicams
Steve’sDigicams have posted a review of the Olympus SP-320 (announced 26.02.06), a 7.1 megapixels point-and-shoot digital camera with 3x optical zoom (equiv. 38-114mm) and a Large 2.5″ LCD screen. They recommend the camera and write;

“The overall image quality of its 7-megapxiel SHQ images is great. Just about every shot I took was sharp and showed good exposure with pleasing color saturation. The White balance system does an excellent job in almost any lighting condition, producing accurate color temperatures. The 3x optical zoom offers versatility in composing your shots. It covers a 35mm equivalent range of 38-114mm, with noticeable barrel distortion at full wide angle, but virtually no pincushioning at the telephoto end. Noise levels are very low for a consumer model, especially when using ISO 200 or less. At ISO 400 and 800 noise is much more noticeable…”

Ten Stabilised Digital Cameras Comparison
BeHardware have recently done a survey comparing 10 Stabilised Digital Cameras including Canon Ixus 800-IS, Casio Exilim S600, FujiFilm FinePix F11, Konica Minolta Dimage X1, Nikon Coolpix P4, Olympus Mju 720 SW, Pentax Optio W10, Panasonic DMCFX01, Ricoh Caplio R3, and Sony DSC-T9. In the conclusion they write;

“We were looking for a compact, thin, fast, camera with image stabilization. Out of the 10 tested, one clearly finishes ahead, the Canon Ixus 800-IS. It doesn’t have major disadvantages, it’s good for macro, video and has a 4x zoom instead of the 3x of most of its competitors.”
Olympus FE-140 - Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a review of the Olympus FE-140, a 6.0 million point-and-shoot digital camera featuring 3x optical zoom (equiv. 38-114 mm), with 20 scene modes, a 22MB internal memory and a large 2.5″ TFT LCD screen.

“The photos we took with the FE-140 were mediocre at best. It captured colors well, and its automatic white balance pleasantly surprised us by accurately reproducing indoor, incandescent lighting without the yellow pall typical of most cameras. Despite this nice touch, the images generally came out soft with fine details and noise, even in bright shots.”

Olympus Stylus 710 - Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a reviewe of the Olympus Stylus 710, a point-and-shoot weatherproof digital camera featuring a 7.1 megapixels (CCD sensor) with 3x Optical Zoom lens (38-116mm equivalent) with image stabilizer, a 2.5″ LCD screen, and a bright capture technology

“…the camera’s photos are subpar, with pervasive JPEG compression artifacts that obscure details. In addition to a general fuzzy, blocky glaze of overprocessing, almost every high-contrast edge displays heavy fringing. Colors are consistently washed out and undersaturated. Don’t expect decent prints bigger than 8 x 10–at best. On the bright side, images are relatively noise-free at low-sensitivity settings, although at ISO 400 and higher, a distinct speckling appears beneath the other artifacts. ISO 1,600 shots are predictably noise-ridden…”

Olympus FE-130 - Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a review of the Olympus FE-130, a 5.1 megapixels (CCD) point-and-shoot digital camera with 3x optical zoom (equiv. to 38-114mm on a 35mm camera), 20 scene modes (incl. Sports, Indoor, Night Scene), 22MB internal memory plus xD-Picture Card slot, and 2.0″ LCD Screen.

“Image quality was acceptable, though the Olympus FE-130’s extremely limited settings meant we couldn’t put it through the rigorous array of tests most cameras endure. It captured colors accurately, and to our pleasant surprise, the automatic white balance produced a relatively neutral picture under incandescent lights, without the yellow pall most cameras display.”

Olympus FE-115 - Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a review of the Olympus FE-115, a 5.0 megapixels (CCD) point-and-shoot digital camera featuring a 2.8x optical zoom (equiv. 38-106mm on 35mm cameras) and 1.5″ TFT LCD monitor.

“…the Olympus FE-115 produces uneven image quality. Its automatic white balance manages to neutralize incandescent lighting accurately, without the yellowish pall produced by many cameras. Unfortunately, heavy JPEG compression artifacts ended up obscuring fine details from many of our field-test images. Our lab shots seemed noise-free, but since we couldn’t manually select the ISO, we couldn’t run it through our usual gamut of noise tests.”
