Nikon Coolpix L3 - Review @ CNET

CNET have recently posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix L3, a 5.1 megapixels (CCD sensor) point-and-shoot digital camera (released on 21.02.06) with 3x Optical Zoom lens (38-116mm equivalent), and a 2.0″ LCD screen.

“Images from the Coolpix L3 generally came out sharp but were hindered by some annoying qualities. For example, we noticed vignetting–the darkening of corners of the image–in our test shots, and high-contrast edges developed a slight purple fringe. Despite these image problems, details were rendered crisply, and colors were reproduced accurately, if slightly cool. “

CNET have recently posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix L4, a point-and-shoot digital camera (released on 21.02.06), featuring a 4 megapixels (CCD sensor) with 3x Optical Zoom lens (38-116mm equivalent), and a 2.0″ LCD screen.

“Performance was a bit sluggish, but in good lighting, the L4 is still quite usable. After an irritating 4.5 seconds to start up and capture its first image, the L4 can snap off an image every 2.9 seconds. With the onboard flash enabled, the rate slows to 4.4 seconds. Shutter lag is a decent 0.9 second in adequate lighting but a disappointing 2 seconds under dim light.”

“Both outdoor and indoor images are sharp and well-exposed, but if you’re using the flash it’ll have to be in a small room, since its range won’t extend beyond four metres. Image and sound quality on recorded videos are also pleasing.The macro mode is great for most close-ups up to 1.6 inches, and the zoom feature is both quick and smooth.”

Nikon Coolpix L4 - Review @ CamerasUK

CamerasUK has recently posted its review of Nikon Coolpix L4, a point-and-shoot digital camera (released on 21.02.06), featuring a 4 megapixels (CCD sensor) with 3x Optical Zoom lens (38-116mm equivalent), and a 2.0″ LCD screen.

nikon-coolpix-l4

“In fact I was very pleased with most of the outdoor photos. Taking into account the price of the camera the Coolpix L4 is able to take a very sharp photo. In terms of sharpness it is better than many more expensive cameras. Moving indoors the camera struggles to focus. This is fairly typical of many cameras in this price bracket. This is a shame as the Coolpix L4 is one of the few smaller digital cameras to produce an indoor portrait that was not blighted by red eye. “

Megapixel have recently published a review of the Nikon Coolpix S6, a 6.0 megapixels (CCD sensor) point-and-shoot digital camera (released on 21.02.06) with 3x Optical Zoom lens (38-116mm equivalent), a huge 3.0″ LCD screen, and a Built-in WiFi. In conclusion Steve writes;

nikon-coolpix-s6

“With the S6, noise is almost absent at the 50 and 100 ISO levels, and minimal at 200 ISO. At 400 ISO is it more readily visible, but images captured at that sensitivity remain quite good when printed to a size no larger than 4 x 6 (10 x 15 cm). On the optical side, the Coolpix S6’s image are free of any chromatic aberration over the entire focal length range of the zoom, and reveal no major distortion, either barrel or pincushion, at any point.”

Nikon Coolpix L4 - Review @ PCMag

PCMag have recently published their review of the Nikon Coolpix L4, a point-and-shoot digital camera (released on 21.02.06), featuring a 4 megapixels (CCD sensor) with 3x Optical Zoom lens (38-116mm equivalent), and a 2.0″ LCD screen.

nikon-coolpix-l4

“In our PC Magazine Labs testing, the daylight still shots revealed a small amount of noise, but the image was mostly free of both colored and noncolored noise. There was some fringing, however, somewhat more than what the Editors’ Choice, the HP Photosmart R817, displayed. Overall, the daylight exposure produced better detail and color than with the R817, but the contrast was a little too strong. For a 4MP camera, the L4 scored very well on our resolution test, with an average of 1,250 lines of resolution. “

Nikon Coolpix S6 - Review @ CNET

CNET have recently published a review of the Nikon Coolpix S6, a 6.0 megapixels (CCD sensor) point-and-shoot digital camera (released on 21.02.06) with 3x Optical Zoom lens (38-116mm equivalent), a huge 3.0″ LCD screen, and a Built-in WiFi. In conclusion Steve writes;

nikon-coolpix-s6

“The Nikon Coolpix S6 offers generally excellent image quality for snapshots, though critical viewers may notice vignetting and other minor flaws. Color accuracy and range are excellent, and the Coolpix S6’s exposures are generally on target. Its palette is rather neutral and faithful to the scene, not oversaturated as with many other point-and-shoot cameras. The Vivid color setting gives images a little more warmth and pop but doesn’t go too far. Flesh tones are warm but not ruddy, even with flash at close range, and the camera’s automatic white balance is fairly accurate under most conditions. ”
