Understanding Fujifilm’s Face Detection Technology
VALHALLA, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–July 12, 2006–The advanced Face Detection Technology system built into Fujifilm’s new FinePix S6000fd digital camera is based on the Image Intelligence technology found in Fujifilm’s Frontier Digital Lab Systems, used by photofinishers to produce large volumes of top-quality photo prints. Face Detection is a selectable option the camera user can turn on whenever human subjects are the focal point of a picture

Once Face Detection is activated, it automatically identifies faces in the scene and prioritizes them in as little as 0.05 seconds. It simultaneously displays a green rectangle around the top-priority face, and a white one around other faces before the picture is taken. Using this information, the FinePix S6000fd is able to focus more precisely on the main subjects and execute the best possible exposure.
Fujifilm FinePix V10 - Review @ ImagingResource
ImagingResource have published a review of the Fujifilm FinePix V10, a 5.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera (Super CCD) with 3x optical zoom and a huge 3″ LCD screen, and the ability to play game on the camera.

“Despite some shortcomings, the V10 is an extremely fun camera with a stylish, portable design and a huge 3-inch LCD. Though it doesn’t live up to its vaunted low-noise, high ISO capabilities, the camera performs well in outdoor daytime and well-lit indoor conditions and is perfect for bringing to a party or on a trip. The four games on the Fujifilm V10, while a bit or a novelty, are an added bonus and should attract younger users to this snazzy and svelte snapshooter. Its biggest feature is the large screen that delivers surprisingly crisp detail.”

Fujifilm Finepix V10 - Review @ LetsGoDigital
LetsGoDigital have recently posted a review of the Fujifilm FinePix V10, a 5.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera (Super CCD) with 3x optical zoom and a huge 3″ LCD screen. They write;

“I have nothing but praise for the small lens, which really does live up to its promise. It produces sharp images that are rich in detail, and is virtually free of distortion. Typical issues such as chromatic aberration simply do not occur with this camera, and the combination of the excellent white balance and light metering ensures the Fujifilm V10 offers an extraordinarily strong digital combination. It goes without saying that the large format 3 inch screen is simply a joy to work with.”

Panasonic Lumix FZ30 vs Fujifilm FinePix S9000
DigitalCameraInfo have published their head-to-head review of the Panasonic Lumix FZ30 and Fujifilm FinePix S9000 where they conclude;

“In the end, both the FZ30 and the S9000 are very convenient cameras – easy to carry, with complete manual controls and long zoom ranges. For users who are content with their speed and image quality, they’ll handle many, many shooting situations quite effectively. The choice between the two again comes down to priority: if you need the additional wide angle capability and prefer to shoot available light, the choice would have to be the S9000. However, if you’re drawn to the all-in-one element of the cameras and don’t want to haul around a tripod, the FZ30’s effective image stabilization, superior optical and color performance, and additional durability are all far beyond the S9000. Particular needs aside, for $70 less, the Panasonic FZ30 is clearly the stronger value. “

Fujifilm FinePix V10 - Review @ PCMag
PCMag have published a review of the Fujifilm FinePix V10, a 5.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera (Super CCD) with 3x optical zoom and a huge 3″ LCD screen.

“The V10 saves video clips as motion JPEGs with sound. Video recorded from the camera produced very good quality—at 30 frames per second and 640 by 480 pixels. Other ultracompact cameras, such as the Olympus Stylus 710, create choppy, 15-fps video. You can’t zoom while you’re shooting video, but that isn’t unusual for an ultracompact camera.”

Fujifilm FinePix F30 - Review @ CNET
CNET have currently published a review of the Fujifilm FinePix F30, a 6.3 megapixels (super CCD HR Technology sensor) point and shoot digital camera with Fujinon 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 36-108mm) and a 2.5-inch LCD screen.

“With a short shutter lag, average wake-up and shot-to-shot times, and a disappointing standard burst mode, the Fujifilm FinePix F30’s performance lands on the better side of average when measured against its competitors….Images from the Fujifilm FinePix F30 were pleasing overall, with well-saturated and accurate colors. Our test images were sharp, though the automatic white balance turned in noticeably warm images under our lab’s tungsten lights.”

Fujifilm Finepix V10 - Review @ CamerasUK
CamerasUK have recently posted a review of the Fujifilm FinePix V10, a 5.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera (Super CCD) with 3x optical zoom, a huge 3″ LCD screen and ability to play games on camera.

“All in all the Finepix V10 is quite easy to use. The number of buttons and dials on the camera has been kept to a minimum, although all the key controls remain at your fingertips. The menu system is also straightforward, if a little cramped. Zoom is controlled through a ring on the top of the camera. Controls for picture review, deleting images, macro, self timer, flash and accessing the menu can all be found in a line at the bottom of the camera’s back.”

Ten Stabilised Digital Cameras Comparison
BeHardware have recently done a survey comparing 10 Stabilised Digital Cameras including Canon Ixus 800-IS, Casio Exilim S600, FujiFilm FinePix F11, Konica Minolta Dimage X1, Nikon Coolpix P4, Olympus Mju 720 SW, Pentax Optio W10, Panasonic DMCFX01, Ricoh Caplio R3, and Sony DSC-T9. In the conclusion they write;

“We were looking for a compact, thin, fast, camera with image stabilization. Out of the 10 tested, one clearly finishes ahead, the Canon Ixus 800-IS. It doesn’t have major disadvantages, it’s good for macro, video and has a 4x zoom instead of the 3x of most of its competitors.”
Fujifilm Finepix V10 - Review @ DigitalCameraReview
DigitalCameraReview have recently posted a review of the Fujifilm FinePix V10, a 5.1 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera (Super CCD) with 3x optical zoom and a huge 3″ LCD screen.

“In terms of image quality, the V10 delivers. The V10’s color is hue accurate, but (like many digital cameras) red and blue are slightly punched up. White balance seems fairly precise, although I did notice a very slight but consistent warmish cast. Images shot at ISO 64 and 100 had extremely low noise levels with balanced contrast and very good to excellent shadow and highlight detail and accurate skin tones.What’s wrong with the V10? Ergonomically the camera is like a small slick thin brick - there’s no grip - so using the included neck strap full time is advised (to avoid dropping the camera).”
