Kodak Easyshare P880 VS Fuji Finepix S9000/S9500

DCViews has done a good job comparing Kodak EasyShare P880 to Fuji Finepix S9000/S9500

kodak-p880-vs-fujifilm-s9000

“The Kodak P880 and the Fuji S9000 are in the same category compact SLR-like and have a similar price tag. But here the similarity stops. The P880 is a very capable digital camera, but it is still very much a compact in build, speed and performance. However because of the many manual features it is a fine camera for the more demanding hobby photographer. The small size, light weight and 24 mm wide angle makes the P880 a pleasant travel companion. The S9000 has more aspirations to be a DSLR, but cannot live up to those standards. Speed and image quality (at high ISO) is much less and the absence of image stabilization, RAW and Adobe RGB make it no alternative for the semi-professional. The many features, large zoom range, good image quality at low ISO, however make it a very good choice for the amateur photographer, who doesn’t want to go out with a bag full of accessories and heavy lenses.”

Fujifilm Finepix E900 – Review @ DigitalCameraReview

DigitalCameraReview has recently posted a review on Fujifilm Finepix E900, 9 Megapixels SuperCCD digital camera with 4x optical zoom and 2″ TFT LCD screen.

fujie900

“In my opinion, the E900′s most serious competition is Canon’s superb A620. The A620 is in virtually every area of consideration other than native resolution (the difference between 7 and 9 megapixels is much less obvious than the difference between 4 and 5 megapixels), a better imaging tool than the E900. So, unless you need the few extra millimeters of wide-angle coverage or plan to enlarge lots of your images to poster size, my recommendation is to buy the A620. You’ll end up with a better camera and save yourself some money. “

Fujifilm FinePix F30 – Preview @ DigitalCameraInfo

Emily Raymond had her hands on the new Fujifilm FinePix F30, a 6.3 megapixels (super CCD HR Technology sensor) point and shoot digital camera with Fujinon 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 36-108mm) and a 2.5-inch LCD screen.

fujifilm-finepix-f30.jpg

“With its flat body, there aren’t too many features to aid in handling. The F30 manages to squeeze in a few, however. On the front there is a polished wavy finger grip. The grip is skinnier than most fingers, so it is more of a highlight than a functional grip. The better feature is on the back. There are rubber bumps below the zoom toggle that really do grab and keep thumbs in place. There is no protrusion for a right-hand grip, so long periods of shooting could be uncomfortable. The Fujifilm F30 has decent handling for a compact model, though. “

Pros: Very good image quality, Natural-looking colours, Broad dynamic range, Excellent metering, CCD-RAW format, 10X optical zoom, Good ergonomic design.

Cons: Limited choice for image quality, Compression a bit too strong with the best JPEG image quality, Image sharpness better with telephoto than with wide angle, CCD-RAW conversion software lacks flexibility. “

Fuji FinePix E900 – Review @ PCMag

PCMag has reviewed the Fujifilm Finepix E900, 9 Megapixels SuperCCD digital camera with 4x optical zoom and 2″ TFT LCD screen. Here’s their verdict;

fujie900

“Pros: Large file sizes for cropping and large prints. Natural Light mode for flash-free shots. RAW file capabilities. Includes glass viewfinder. Uses easy-to-find double-A batteries.

Cons: No video zoom. A bit of purple fringing in our test shots. Slow recycle time. Uses slightly more expensive xD cards.

With its high megapixel count and sophisticated imaging system, many photo enthusiasts—even pros—will enjoy the little Fuji FinePix E900 compact digital camera.”

FujiFilm FinePix F11 – Review @ DCViews

DCViews has recently posted a review (with sample photos) on FujiFilm FinePix F11, a 6 megapixels with 3x optical zoom lens ( 36 to 108mm equivalent) and 2.5 inch LCD screen.

finepix_f11

“Colour rendition is excellent with clean natural looking colours which can be beefed up a bit by using the Chrome setting in the Fujifilm Finephoto mode. Exposure was generally OK although sometimes the camera would expose a bit too much for the shadow areas leading to some overexposure of the highlights.

The Finepix F11 is a fairly compact and durable camera. With the exception of the plastic battery door and tripod mount it is entirely made of metal. Usability is excellent with nice positive controls that are easy to operate. While the camera can be used by the whole family as an easy to use point and shoot, the true enthusiast will still find enough advanced features to satisfy his or her creativity.”

Fujifilm FinePix S5200 – Review @ Steve’sDigicams

Steve’s Digicam has recently posted the review of Fujifilm FinePix S5200, a 5.0 megapixel Super CCD digital camera with a 10x optical zoom lens (38-380mm equivalent) featuring an “anti-blur” mode, 1.8″ LCD screen, Pictbridge, and RAW mode.

fujis5200

“The S5200′s shooting performance is very good. From power-on till the first image was captured measured under just 2 seconds. Shutter lag, the delay between depressing the shutter and capturing the image, was almost instantaneous (less than 1/10 of a second) when pre-focused, and only 4/10 of a second including autofocus time. Shot to shot delay averaged about 1 second without flash, and between 2.5 and 5 seconds with flash, depending on subject distance and battery life. Things slow down quite a bit when shooting CCD-RAW images; Continuous shooting is disabled, and shot to shot time slows to between 5 and 6 seconds. RAW mode is not well supported by Fuji’s FinePix Viewer; all you can do is convert the RAW file to TIFF and save it. But, I think that most users will be very satisfied with the image produced by its 5-megapixel Fine JPEG mode.”
