Philips Digital Photo Display – Review @ CNET
CNET have recently published a review of Philips Digital Photo Display, a digital photo frame with 137 x 91mm, 720 x 480 pixel LCD screen.

“PROS: Bright, high-resolution 137mm-by-91mm display, Slots for most types of memory cards, Images are automatically resized during upload from cards, Rechargeable battery. CONS:Navigating through menu systems isn’t as intuitive a process as it should be, Battery life is relatively short at 50 minutes.
In the final analysis, the Philips Digital Photo Display gets a lot of things right. Although some may think it’s slightly expensive, it does offers expansion slots for most memory cards, a sleek design, rechargeable battery and, most importantly, a high-quality image. We have no problem recommending it.”

Photo Printing Tips at PopPhoto.com
Popular Photography & Imaging’s Aimee Baldridge has published 20 very usefull tips on getting good photo printing result. Here’s one of them;

” When should I use glossy paper and when matte?
Glossy papers can make colors look more vibrant and give black-and-white photos a broader apparent tonal range. The way that light reflects off a glossy surface makes blacks look blacker. Glossy papers are also good for photos that will be handled instead of displayed, since they’re often more durable, though they show fingerprints.For aesthetics, many serious printers prefer fine art papers with a matte finish; these also minimize reflections when framed. If you’re using a matte paper to print b&w, you’ll get the best results with a color ink set that includes a “matte black”—which you may have to swap with a “photo black” cartridge—or a custom monochrome ink set with four or more inks. The wider range of black ink densities will compensate for the loss of the reflectivity of glossy paper. If you want to use very thick matte papers, get a printer with a straight paper path that won’t damage your media.”

Lowepro CompuDaypack – Review @ DigitalCameraReview
DigitalCameraReview’s Ben has written a brief review of the Lowepro CompuDaypack, a lightweight yet spacious backpack for a notebook model (fits most 17″models) and a digital SLR with lens attached up to a 105mm f/2.8), plus 2-3 additional lenses or flash units.

“The Lowepro CompuDaypack handles all of that extremely well. It’s by no means a light load, but the backpack handles it very well. I don’t have to walk far or leave it on my back very long, but I have worn it for a couple hours at a time with a similar load. The backpack remained very comfortable. PROS: Excellent quality, Holds a lot, but is not too bulky, Good padding for notebook and camera equipment. CONS: Single zipper on top compartment, No extra sleeve to secure smaller notebooks in the larger notebook compartment”

Epson P4000 – Review @ Shutterbug
Shutterbug’s Joe Farace has reviewed the Epson P-4000, a multimedia storage with capacity of 80GB, a huge 3.8″ LCD Screen, and measuring 3.3″x5.8″x1.2″.

“Battery life is estimated at two to three hours depending on what kind of media—photos, video, or music—you’re using. When loading images I always used the AC adapter, but when viewing used the built-in lithium ion batteries and the P-4000 never let me down. The P-4000 may not be the perfect tool for a week-long backpacking trip in the high country, but a laptop needs to be recharged, too, and is lots heavier.”
