Casio EX-ZR100 Reviews

PCMag reviews the Casio EX-ZR100 and writes;
“The Casio Exilim EX-ZR100 is a speed demon that shoots excellent photos and video, but its high price tag, and quirks with zooming and autofocus, hold it back somewhat.”

WDC reviews the Casio EX-ZR100 and writes;
“The back-illuminated CMOS sensor produces great images from ISO 100-400 and close-up macro works a treat. Although ISO 800 through to ISO 3200 are much softer the results are better than a number of competitor compacts out there. “

ePhotozine reviews the Casio EX-ZR100 and writes;
“Really, there’s nothing close to the Casio ZR100 except other Casio cameras. Where it really tells though, is in the uses Casio has put the high speed processing to and here the HDR, anti-shake, low light, panorama and pet capture modes are all huge fun and work amazingly well. “

DCI reviews the Casio EX-ZR100 and writes;
“At its size and speed, the Casio ZR100 is ready to travel at a moments notice, offering the kind of speedy image capture most other compact cameras can only dream of. With 12.5x optical zoom packaged in, as well, it goes beyond what its predecessors accomplished, offering speed freaks a camera they can be confident they’ll get results from.”

Casio EX-ZR100 Features

Producing the perfect shot

HDR (High-Dynamic Range) harnesses the High-Speed CS and high-speed large-volume image data processing capabilities of the new Exilim Engine HS to create a totally new type of digital imaging. The process combines information from a burst of multiple images and unites the most detailed portions of each image (taken at different exposures) for a beautiful, never-before-possible wide dynamic range.

A new take on photographic expression

Casio’s exclusive HDR-Art creates a totally new artistic approach to photography that combines a burst of CS images recorded at the touch of the shutter button. The camera automatically processes the images, slightly adjusting the relative strength of contrast in local areas. The resulting image achieves a level of expression that normally cannot be realized without mounting the camera on a tripod, shooting a series of images with different exposures, and then processing the images on a computer.

Image Precision Beyond The Optical Zoom

Only Casio could find a way to pack a 12.5X Optical Zoom lens, a large 3.0-inch monitor and a CMOS shift stabilization mechanism into a slim, compact camera body. Equipped with a ultra-wide angle starting at 24mm (35mm film camera equivalent) all the way up to a 12.5X telephoto zoom (300mm). With Casio’s High-Speed SR Zoom technology the EX-ZR100 extends the range to an amazing 25X (600mm) allowing the photographer to be ready for any scene!

High-Speed recording of action that occurs before you press the shutter button

Prerecord CS is based on the same concept as High-Speed Movie recording and ensures you never miss a moment of the action. A half press of the shutter button starts prerecording images to a continuously refreshed High-Speed CS buffer. Then a full press of the shutter button records buffer contents and real-time images.

Makes it easy to take panoramic images

If you want to capture the bigger picture, the Slide Panorama feature gives you extremely wide panorama images with a huge field of vision of up to 360 degrees. Simply by panning the camera across the scene with the shutter button pressed, Slide Panorama makes it easy to take panoramic images.
