I have used it to create portraits and it did fine. I have tried to use it at weddings/receptions and it just couldn't keep up with my shooting. It would also over heat because of the type of shooting. However, using it for not so intense situations, it's a great option. I use the 420EX and found it to be sufficient for what I do.
