I know that once I master the basics of this new digital point and shoot, sooner or later, most likely sooner, I will want to try and be “creative.”

So if I am going to invest in this new camera, I might as well get what I am most likely to use down the road and that will be sooner rather than later.

I am in the process of switching over from film to digital (now I am a retired photojournalist) and with grandchildren I want to photograph and old slides and prints I want to take a look at and maybe/probably do something new with them, I want to be prepared to do the things I know I will want to do. Also, it is our plan… my wife and I … to set up a “digital darkroom” in one of our rooms at home and so we are studying what products to buy and of course we want to learn how to use them correctly so that is another area of our interests. We already have several trips booked up and I can see me wanting to write articles again and submit photos on these new subjects that will come into our lives. So photographically, I want to get prepared. As I say, digital photography is a whole new world for me.
