Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII Reviews
Pdngearguide reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“print quality from the Mark II was just as good as on the original version. Output showed excellent color tone overall and an impressive dynamic range. A test print of the exterior of the Guggenheim Museum at sunset captured all the details of Frank Lloyd Wright’s rotunda, in both the sunlit and shaded areas, including a few parts that showed where the plaster was slightly cracked.”
Hardwarezone reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“While the Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II is as good as it gets for photo printing at home with its excellent quality, it can be a pricey proposition. The printer itself is S$1299 with each ink cartridge at S$24.90 and it runs 10 different inks. Like other inkjet printers, it won’t work with even just one cartridge missing, so you’ll have to keep all 10 freshly stocked. But in the end, you do get what you pay for with top quality prints.”
Imaging-resource reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“Delivering fade-resistant prints in color or black and white, with an extended black and white tonal range from three black inks and a wide color gamut for pigments with 10 inks, the Pro9500 Mark II delivered the best pigment printing experience we’ve had.”
Reviewed reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“We also found that the color gamut of the printer (the range of colors that it can reproduce) was extremely wide; the Pro 9500 Mark II managed to cover 65% of the Adobe RGB gamut, while other printers typically managed less than 50%. This is a very important factor for serious photographers, who want a printer to reproduce the wide range of colors that their cameras capture. We also found that the Pro 9500 Mark II excelled at producing deep, dark blacks; we found that it produced significantly deeper and darker blacks than most other printers. “
Photoreview reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“We have some reservations about Canon’s Pixma Pro9500, although it can certainly produce excellent prints under the right conditions. The lack of controls in the printer driver – particularly for B&W printing – puts this printer at a disadvantage against its rivals. On the plus side, though, it’s cheaper than either of them and, like them, supports ICC profiles, enabling users to print on third-party, fine art media.”
Ppmag reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“The Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II produces brilliant prints, especially on fine art paper. Canon supplies ICC profiles for a number of popular papers, which facilitates producing superior prints without the need for user created custom profiles. The variety of supported media means the user can select just the right paper for each print, an important consideration for fine art printing, where the subtle interactions between image and paper can make the difference between a nice print and a stunning piece of art.”
Printerinfo reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“The Canon Pro 9500 Mark II had great overall performance; we saw very deep blacks and a wide color gamut in our tests. The color accuracy was a little off, though; our review unit had some problems with deep blues.”
Reviews.washingtonpost reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“We found that the Pro 9500 Mark II excelled in most of our tests. We found that it could reproduce a very wide range of colors, did a great job of reproducing fine details and had very deep, dark blacks in our test prints. It also had very good color accuracy; most of our test colors were accurately reproduced, although we did see some problems with the medium and dark blues; they came out excessively dark, even after we calibrated the printer.”
Photoshopdaily reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“This last one is a reason why Canon is touting this printer to photographers especially, for use in monochrome reproductions. For black-and-white photography or Photoshop work, this is fantastic; for colour paintings, though, it can cause bleaching or dullness in areas of subtly toned shadow.”
PCWorld reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“The print quality that the Canon PIXMA Pro 9500 Mark II produces is excellent, with none of the flaws that we’ve seen on cheaper, non-pigment inkjet models. If you’re an avid photographer keen to try printing your photos in large sizes, you won’t be disappointed with the image quality of the Canon PIXMA Pro 9500 Mark II A3 printer.”
PCAdvisor reviews the Canon Pixma PRO9500MarkII and writes;
“The Canon Pixma Pro9500 Mark II is an excellent printer that photographers capturing RAW images will prefer over the HP B9180 due to the quality of its 16-bit output. Illustrators and designers working in 8-bit may prefer the HP’s Photosmart Pro B9180 ’s price tag – which is £140 lower – and built-in calibrator and network connectivity.”

purchaser, | Rating:
“Over all, this printer is amazing! I know Canon has gotten some heat over its performance on glossy paper. I do not normaly print on glossy paper and have not yet done so with this printer. But on the Photo Rag Paper the prints are amazing. And the print is the important thing. Photos are ment to be seen, and this printer does an amazing job creating a print. I would definatly recomend this printer!! “ – by S. McMurphy

“I purchased this as a gift for my daughter-in-law, she was delighted with the printer and is even more delighted with the pictures she has been able to produce. She thinks the printer is relativley easy to use and has no problems at all with it. A successful, great purchase.” – by Robert L. Brewer
Wow! | Rating:
“This is one fine photo printer. I’ve had for almost a month and it has produced some spectacular results, whether the photo was color or black and white. One reviewer states that ink use is about equal between all the tanks. I’ve found otherwise. Ink use depends on what type of photos you are printing. Photo quality is outstanding and I find use of the Canon Semi-Gloss to be one of my favorite papers. Enjoy this printer!” – by joseph
PLEASED WITH MY CHOICE, | Rating:
“I recieved my 9500 Mark 2 and immediatly set my i9900 aside. The set up was easy and instruction was easy to follow. An image was selected for printing and set up for B&W print. First print was good.. i am really pleased with the preformance with the printer . I have tried to locate a local store to stock ink tanks but none available buti can order and have in a couple of days. I ordered a complete set and will keep a stock on hand! “ – by Charles E. My first high end prtinter, | Rating:
“I have been very satisfied with this purchase. Its footprint is not too big and it closes up tightly when not in use. It use of ink seems very reasonable and I am very pleased with the prints. I calibrate my monitor every two weeks and this printer gives me the colors see on the monitor (I have not calibrated the printer.)..” – by Joseph P. Carbonari
Blown Away by Results – very slow 13×19′s – B&W also great, | Rating:
“Its definately a beast! prints great pictures and a purchase well thought out! Highest reviews in this price range. Glossy II print outs are good but I think you need to step to the premium Glossy to get the more “Wet” look. The Glossy II’s just don’t do it for me that much. Not a printer issue. “ – by David
Blown Away by Results – very slow 13×19′s – B&W also great, | Rating:
“As a former owner of the Canon i9100 13×19 6 color process printer, I have to say that Canon has outdone themselves with this printer! The quality of the prints is AMAZING! My only complaint is that the printer is SLOOOOW. It took over an hour to print seven 13×19 pics. I am also VERY impressed with the black and white results. Unlike my Canon i9100, this printer doesn’t seem to “tint” the grayscale printing with ANY color ink at all. With my old 9100, the black and white’s looked a little pinkish in color. On this printer, my Black and Whites are gorgeous.” – by tandemnut
Buh Bye Epson!! | Rating:
“I always felt they had the best overall image quality, which was of paramount importance to me. The last two I had had amazing image quality, but I got so tired of constantly wasting ink to clean the print heads so I could get a decent print.” – by J. Darknell
Outstanding Prints, | Rating:
“With the purchase of a Canon 50D, I felt I was pushing beyond the limits of my HP printer, so I bit the bullet and got the Canon. To be honest, on 3×5 and 4×6, the detail was pretty much the same, but the color rendering was much better on the Canon. On larger picture sizes, there is no competition, the Canon produces amazing quality prints.” – by Omar Sultan
Printer for high quality photos, | Rating:
“This is a great printer for its intended use, photographs! I don’t care that it is slow as some others seem to be.
Once I figured out how to use it I have been more than satisfied. I’m not the most mechanical of people and do rely on manuals. I should have followed the fine print a little better. That’s my fault. Again, A Great printer for color work. “ – by Thomas E. Mulnix
Love this Printer, | Rating:
“I got a deal that I couldn’t refuse on this printer and I’m so glad I did. The setup was very straight forward and switching out the printer ink has been painless. When the ink is low, the light flashes and it is very easy to pop out the old one and put in the new one. I use the Canon paper and have been very happy with the results. I have tried them all and my favorite is the semi-gloss for color prints and the fine art matte for black and whites.” – by KJ Naturescapes
AMAZING Printer! | Rating:
“This printer is well worth the money! I have printed over 100 pictures (different sizes up to a 13×9) and I have only changed the grey ink cartridge. I use the platinum series paper and the results are perfect, and professional. I have my own photography company and it helps a lot to have my own printer to cut down costs, and all of my clients have been amazed that the products were printed in my own home.” – by Laura M.
