Canon Pixma Pro9000 Reviews

PCpro reviews the Canon Pixma Pro9000 and writes;
“Performance proved impressive too. Our full A4 test photo arrived in high-quality mode in just 1min 56secs, and as an A3 print in 3mins 39secs. The quality is outstanding, with deep, solid blacks, faithful detail reproduction and no hint of banding. “

PCMag reviews the Canon Pixma Pro9000 and writes;
“Photo quality for the Pro9000 was impressive. Using semigloss fine-art paper—which Canon recommended to show the printer off to its best advantage—the color output earned a perfect score on almost every issue that I look at when evaluating photo quality. The only shortcoming worth mentioning was with a monochrome photo which showed a slight tint.”

PhotographyBlog reviews the Canon Pixma Pro9000 and writes;
“Colors are rich, blacks are a true black, and landscape images have a near Velvia look to the greens. Skin tones look good, perhaps a touch warmer than I would normally print, but a pleasing tone to them that most people will appreciate.”

Photo-i reviews the Canon Pixma Pro9000 and writes;
“The Canon Pixma Pro 9000 has been producing excellent quality prints over the last two weeks, it has surpassed my expectations in many respects, but also fallen short in other areas. T “

Imaging-resource reviews the Canon Pixma Pro9000 and writes;
“Large print heads make printing fast and the Pro9000′s very large head does indeed print quickly. The small droplet size and high resolution deliver very sharp, detailed prints at the same time.”

Canon Pixma Pro9000 User Reviews

Best printer I’ve owned so far
“I guess I’ve either been lucky or the people who had problems right away are the minority, but the color of my prints are fabulous. Bought it two months ago. I’m an artist and have made prints of my work to sell, 12 x 16 so far, and with the museum quality paper they look perfict. I’ve always wanted a printer that actually printed the color correctly. All the printers I’ve owned before were not accurate to various degrees and certainly the color was not as vivid. I’m very happy with the pro 9000. I would recommend this printer to anyone who needs professional quality prints. I also use it when sending pictures of my work to galleries and shows who require photo’s instead of slides.” – by J. Gorgous Prints
“When I purchased This printer a month ago it was a toss up between this one,the canon 9000 pro and the Epson 2400, I have always been a big canon supporter because of quality for the price,and this printer does not disappoint the prints that this printer did,off of my canon 40d and on 13×19 canon proII photo paper was really gorgous.I don’t feel anyone could go wrong with this printer if you would like to do your own enlargements.And it does it fast and quiet!!” – by Glenn A. Excellent Printer
“After owning a slew of “regular” printers, I finally upgraded to a “real” photo printer and wanted wide format capabilities. The Canon Pro9000 has gone beyond my expectations. The quality of print from this machine is awesome to say the least. It has yet to produce a streak, blotch or ??????. Picture perfect every single time. “ – by Peter Hurley

Perfect for Design School
“I’ve owned this printer for almost 3 years now and it’s still performing wonderfully. I’ve printed countless portfolio books and posters that have gotten many compliments on color richness and quality (especially depending on what paper you use). Graphic design majors at my school were talking about “throwing away their Epsons and switching over to Canon” after seeing my prints. It also handles extremely thick cardstock and transparencies without any trouble feeding, where friends of mine with Epsons have had problems. “ – by V. Choi

“This came down for me to either the epson or canon. Since I already have an epson I thought I’d try the canon. I never looked back. This printer is amazing. It starts fast and prints spectacular prints on gloss, but not so great on matte. It uses alot of two out of eight ink, but that’s a minor quip. I’ve never had a stopped up nozzle like the epson. I highly recommend this.” – by Dr.Savage

Canon Pixma Pro9000 Printer
“I had a Canon Pixma Pro9000 printer for a few years and had to replace it. I like the printer so much I had to get another. The printing is exceptional in color and sharpness. I print artwork that I create on the computer and use 14 inch wide paper for most of my prints. It works great!” – by Robert A. Jensen

“this is a great printer. it is fast, and not too expensive to run. people are always impressed by the output. keep in mind though that is is BIG. really big, so if you think thie will fit on your desktop, you must have a really big desk. it needs its own table, and a lot of room in front and back “ – by D. Awesome Printer
“I LOVE this printer! The photos come out totally professional and clear (of course, as long as you took a good picture to begin with). I print alot in the 13 x 19 size and they make people’s eyes pop out. The printing is extremely quiet and quick….just be sure to let the photo dry completely before you try to frame it! (I got too excited and it stuck to the glass) Set up is quick and easy as pie.” – by E. Burgen

A huge amazing printer
“The print quality can be outstanding as long as you know what you’re doing; though even if you’re using the Windows print drivers photos will turn out fine. Ink prices can get to be a little steep, but honestly, you won’t be buying that much ink unless you print 50 photos on a weekly basis. These are the longest lasting ink cartridges I’ve bought. The prints do not have an odd smell to them, or crinkle the paper as I have seen with other printers. This printer is probably one of the best to ratchet up your photo printing with. Starting a photography business? Buy this printer, learn what makes prints beautiful and you’ll be set.” – by K. Duke

WORKHORSE HIGH QUALITY PRINTER
“I wrote a book and wasn’t sure how it would sell so I started printing the front and rear convers on this printer. I printed the book pages on a duplexing, high speed HP LaserJet. The book has sold well and I continue to print the front and rear covers on thick photographic paper. I do this 100′s at a time and there is never a burp. Every page is perfect and the print speed is very good. I use various brands of photographic paper. In fact, I have never used Canon papers. I have my monitor calibrated but not the printer. However I make a slight adjustment in the image brightness and the prints match perfectly.” – by Steve Cohan

Canon Pixma Pro9000 Features

The PIXMA Pro9000 Photo Printer’s 8-color ink system will open up your color palette, and its advanced software gives you more control over your final output. Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) technology uses a high-precision, 6,144-nozzle print head to deliver thousands of 2-picoliter ink droplets per second in one pass. This high-density ink placement produces a maximum resolution of 4800 x 2400 dpi with incredibly sharp detail and minimal graininess.

Beautiful, long-lasting prints.
The PIXMA Pro9000 Photo Printer along with the ChromaLife100 system combines the benefits of select genuine Canon dye-based inks, select Canon photo papers and FINE print head technology to create long-lasting, beautiful prints. This 8-color dye ink system produces a wide color gamut, and achieves the vivid coloration and high glossiness that may have been missing with other conventional photo printers.

Canon software for photo fine-tuning.
Want more control over the print process? With the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint Pro software plug-in, this next-generation photo printer can be seamlessly integrated into a computer workflow. Easy-PhotoPrint Pro augments other post-production software, including Canon Digital Photo Professional software (DPP version 2.1) and Adobe® Photoshop® CS/CS2 software. You can use customized layout options to produce contact prints, prints with shooting information-even pattern prints of a single image that let you select the optimal color balance, brightness and contrast settings. For further fine-tuning, choose from three color adjustments that can be saved with personal settings: Enable ICC Profile, Photo Color and Linear Tone.

FINE Technology
Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a patented print head with

Generation Green is Canon’s new environmental initiative. This program encompasses eligible Scanners, PIXMA Inkjet Printers and imageCLASS laser printers. Generation Green is designed to provide business partners, customers and consumers a way to learn about the environmentally-friendly approach that Canon is taking to design many of its current and future products and solutions; for example, possible cost savings through energy efficiency. The Pro9000 has the following Generation Green characteristics:

* Individual Ink Tanks – The individual ink tanks may reduce the amount of wasted ink from cartridges as compared to a composite 4 color cartridge, by allowing users to replace individual color tanks rather than entire color cartridges.
* 4 in 1, 2 in 1 Printing – This option allows users to place multiple pages on 1 page, saving up to 75% of your paper supply.
* ENERGY STAR – Qualified products are 25% more efficient than conventional models. By using less energy, these products reduce greenhouse gas emissions and saves energy as well as money.
* RoHS Compliance – This is a directive from the european Union that restricts the use of hazardous materials found in electronic products. This product restricts the the use of cadmium, mercury, lead, hexavalent chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE).
