Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Reviews
Expertreviews reviews the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II and writes;
“A colour A3 photo took just four minutes and five seconds at the highest quality settings. In standard quality, an A3 print takes just over a minute and a half, although we see little point in using this high-end printer for anything less than maximum quality. Smaller prints were faster – 6x4in photos took an average of 56 seconds each at maximum quality, while a pair of 10x8in images took one minute and 54 seconds.”
PCWorld reviews the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II and writes;
“Quality is what the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II A3+ inkjet photo printer was built for, and this is where it truly delivers. We tested the printer across a range of glossy and matte Canon photo media, in sizes from 4x6in to A3+. Across all of our tests, the printer produced accurate colours with few exceptions and no noticeable aberrations. Blues, greens and yellows are all vibrant without being oversaturated.”
Photoreview reviews the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II and writes;
“Test prints on glossy paper were almost totally free of gloss differential (surface irregularities) and the resolution of detail was so fine in colour prints we were unable to see any dot patterning at all. This is what you would expect of a print head that can deliver 2 picolitre dots. We also detected no evidence of metamerism in colour prints.”
Trustedreviews reviews the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II and writes;
“When we switched to printing A3 photos, the PIXMA Pro9000 Mk II really started to show its metal, with a full print in 1:53. To produce a high-quality A3 photo in less than two minutes is pretty impressive even though, in this market, speed is very secondary to print quality. Speaking of which, the quality of prints we saw from the machine is generally very good, with smooth colour gradations and true colours almost without exception. You can see the difference between Standard and High quality modes, particularly in the detail resolved in shadowed areas, but in most other respects, for general printing, standard print mode should be fine.”
Printercomparison reviews the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II and writes;
“With vibrant color output, better speed than the Pro9500, and a much lower overall cost of operation, plus the same flexibility in media types and output options, the Pro9000 Mark II might just be the ideal entry point for amateur artists looking to dive into digital prints. Moreover, if black-and-whites are your one true passion, the Pro9500 is the undisputed answer; for the rest of us, though, the Pro9000 Mark II offers the same superior performance at a little more than half the price.”
Imaging-resource reviews the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II and writes;
“The Canon Pro9000 Mark II is a faster Pro9000. Its dyes deliver a brilliant range of color that, under proper storage, will outlive you (which is all that counts). And yet the printer is capable of subtle variations in tone and color that, printed on a variety of fine art media, simply astonished us. While you can certainly print smaller size images on the Pro9000 Mark II, the real thrill is dawdling over an image to print at 13×19. The printer’s grainless resolution, quickness and fidelity (using the ICC profiles provided with the paper) make printing as rewarding an experience as pressing the Shutter button. That makes the Canon Pro9000 Mark II our favorite printer.”

Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II User Reviews
Outstanding Printer, | Rating:
“It not only can print in the larger format for us hobbiests but I also use it for work here at home. It’s fast for work and does an outstanding job on photos. My last canon lasted for over 14,000 copies both photos and documents. I’ve had this printer for 8 months and with daily use I have not had a bit of problem. I even have used 140# cover weight paper with no problem. I highly recommend this printer. “ – by Nancy Stislow
A dream come true! | Rating:
“A few other prints, at full 8.5 x 11 in, just as a quick comparison to the same image produced from color negative as a wet process, showed Canon prints superior in every respect: sharpness, color, saturation, everything was much better, which makes me very happy. And best of all – there is not a hint of prints being produced on a bubble jet printer at all!..” – by Brian
Mavelous Photo Printer, | Rating:
“The Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II printer is the highest quality printer that I have owned. The colors are beautiful and natural. I find that I get a picture that is more like the screen image when I print from Photoshop CS4 than from the included software. This does not imply that the results from the included software are not pleasing. It says that the amount of fine control that is possible with this printer is near the max imaginable. “ – by Thomas A. Liao
Gatta love this beast., | Rating:
“This beast, as I like to call it is huge and heavy, and at start-up it’s quite loud. But printing is quiet and fast. Quality of prints comes down to program profile and paper. Since this printer can print jaw dropping images, stunning illustrations and tiny type that will be visible. Program profile varies by computer so I had to experiment to find right one that syncs with what I see on the screen. But paper, this can either kill your work or make it stand out. So don’t expect amazing prints with low quality paper.” – by Pawel Zawada
Pro9000, | Rating:
“This printer is wonderful. Canon never disappoints. I bought it so I could get prints larger than 8.5 X 11 and have done some that are 13 X 19. The vibrant colors and clarity are amazing. Ink consumption so far has been surprisingly low and I’m glad to see that. If you’re looking for an excellent printer that will give you superb results, you should definitely consider the Pro9000 Mark 2. “ – by D. Willemin
insatiable appetite for photo magenta | Rating:
“love this printer. it’s a work horse…and with the right paper, prints beautifully. but i find, no matter what jobs i’m printing, that i use about 8 photo magenta ink cartridges to every 1 of most of the other colors. yellow comes a close second. i have never changed the red or green in the year i have had this printer… “ – by kclud39
Works Perfectly, No Problems, | Rating:
“When doing borderless printing, there is also near-perfect registration of the printed image, so that you don’t have to set it for a big enlargement to ensure that the entire area of the paper is covered. I am real happy about this as I hate to waste ink. I don’t yet know how frugal this printer is with its ink; other reviewers have spoken about that. It DOES make quite a racket when it first grabs the paper, but that’s no big deal to me. I have put three different sizes of photo paper (4×6, 8.5×11, 13×19) and two different sizes of plain paper (8.5×11, 11×17) through it and it handles them all without the slightest problem. “ – by D. R. Crawford
Great Quality Printouts, | Rating:
“The setup process was very easy & so is the usage. It prints great quality photos from 4 X 6 to 13 X 19. The prints outs are fast and very quite.. I tried with the brand PrintWorks that you get at the local Target store for 1/2 the price you pay for the Canon semi gloss and the print out was not very sharp. The same print out turned out sharp with Canon semi gloss.” – by V. Sathyanarayana
Best bang for your buck on the market, | Rating:
“…Picture Quality – The inks might not last as long, but they do sure as hell POP! They are better than any pigment based ink I’ve used. Price – This is much cheaper than any other quality printer, and the costs to run it are much cheaper with the Canon ChromaLife Inks.” – by Arthur D. Bogard
