Canon PIXMA MX340 Reviews
Trustedreviews reviews the Canon PIXMA MX340 and writes;
“Both these photos were to Canon’s normal high standard, with colours looking very natural and showing good levels of detail. Dark areas of the image were less detailed than we normally see from Canon machines, and although this could be tweaked through software, we’ve seen better from earlier Canon all-in-ones. “
Pocket-lint reviews the Canon PIXMA MX340 and writes;
“For a cheaper device the Canon has a decent specification and retains Canon’s standard build quality. Performance is a bit of a mixed bag with some decent output, but nothing spectacular. We were impressed by the quality of the photos produced from the MX340 considering the lack of extra photo ink tanks.”
PCmag reviews the Canon PIXMA MX340 and writes;
“As you would expect from an inkjet, the text lacked the crisp clean edges typical of a laser, and it can smudge if it gets wet, so it’s not appropriate for, say, a resume or high-quality desktop publishing. However, it’s more than good enough for anything short of that.”
PCWorld reviews the Canon PIXMA MX340 and writes;
“Print quality was fairly good: Ttext samples were pure black, though a little fuzzy around the edges. Color images were bright, but an orange bias made some fleshtones look unnatural, and textures had an overall light graininess. Color scans tended to be dark and lost some detail in shadowy areas; in other respects, however, they looked quite nice.”
Canon PIXMA MX340 User Reviews
Works really well with my iMac and Snow Leopard, | Rating:
“The included software is good. This is usually a problem with Macs and printers/scanners, but not this time. The scanner will scan straight into Mail, or into your Pictures folder, in jpg, tiff, or pdf. The scans are excellent, much better than the stand-alone HP Scanjet I paid $300 for not so long ago. Print quality is quite good, and reasonably fast, but I really got this for scanning and faxing, with just light duty printing when I don’t want to walk over to the laser printer.” – by Richard G. Russell
Great prints, Mac compatible, True wireless, | Rating:
“Canon has a great color engine, and gorgeous printing – very obvious in the prints I’m seeing here. Photos are great, though only available in 4 x 6. Though I thought the printer had card slots from Amazon’s description page, it simply has a USB connection for a camera’s cable on the front of the printer. The connection will also accommodate a Bluetooth point for an additional method of wireless printing. “ – by Kristi in Rochester
Great Value, | Rating:
“I bought this printer mostly for the reasonable price. When I recieved it, I was amazed by the quality of the machine. Much nicer than most desk top printers. I was very nervous about setting it up, but the instructions are excellent and the Canon Pixma was operational in no time. It located my router right away. The printing function is super easy. The copy function is very fast and the copies look like the original. I haven’t tried the scanning or faxing. “ – by M. J. Chapman
Great All-in-one, | Rating:
“I had no problems setting it up and I love that it takes the place of three devices. It freed up space on my book shelf because I got rid of my old printer, my scanner, and my fax. It prints beautiful pictures and I have had no problem printing checks from Quicken or printing letters or screen prints from the web.” – by Carol M. Rogers
The Agony and the Ecstasy | Rating:
“Print quality is simply outstanding, and that’s coming from a longtime graphic designer who’s very particular about output. My first page was for a final logo design and everything was flawless (on Konica glossy stock). No jaggies at all, even under magnification. The scanner quality was passable and extremely quick (150 dpi color scan 6×4) taking 10-15 seconds. I expect better results once I have a chance to tinker with the software. “ – by Mac on Maui
Easy to set up and use, and a great deal for the price, | Rating:
“I printed out a page of text, and it is beautiful! Clear, clean, sharp, dark. Next, I scanned an antique bookmark and it came out with all its colors looking rich and vibrant. Then I printed a photograph using the sample of 4×6 photo paper Canon enclosed with the printer, and it too turned out a glossy and stunning image. And finally, I copied a page just to test that out, and the copy proved to be an excellent reproduction. And faxing was just as easy and simple. “ – by sb-lynn
Best AIO for the buck! | Rating:
“As expected, the text output was “cheap laser” quality, if not a touch better. Scanning was surprisingly quick, for text and simple graphics. Not surprisingly, doing any sort of higher-res photo scanning is on the slow side, though the image quality is better than acceptable for most home users. Printing out photos produced better than expected results, though not without some edge bleeding even on decent-quality paper. “ – by Kevin Nicholls
It’s probably just me | Rating:
“Rating this printer as a 4 star for the following reason: First, print quality and speed are terrific. Scanning is done with ease and perfectly passes the data to my computer (where I e-mailed the scan to a friend). For the money, this printer is a great deal.” – by M. Kelly
Glad I purchased this | Rating:
“In my history, this is the third printer brand I’ve purchased and I am very pleased. It was easy to install, and I used the on-line drivers for my netbook in lieu of the enclosed disk. Others in my family used the disk on their laptops. It works fine for my use which is more for documents rather than photos or color printing.” – by work at home mom
LOVE this printer, | Rating:
“The price is awesome, and I printed out a picture as a test and the quality was great! Looked like I printed it out at a kiosk at Target! Print time was a little better than my Canon photo printer (which I’m not going to sell on Craig’s List since this printer has the fuctionality that I need) and the fact that I can print anything wirelessly is great! So far no gripes but I’ll be sure to update if any arise!” – by BuffyS
