Canon PIXMA iP6220D Reviews

Trustedreviews reviews the Canon PIXMA iP6220D and writes;
“Canon print quality continues to be excellent and we were particularly impressed by the black text print on plain paper. This isn’t by any means the primary function of this printer and whether it uses photo black or a combination of cyan, magenta and yellow to print black, the result is dense and characters are clean around the edges. Moving to colour business graphics, again on plain paper, the results are just as good, with areas of solid colour coming out dense and with no banding. Coloured text is well formed and without stipples.”

Awesome cost effective printer
“I purchased this product for Christmas from Staples as it was cheaper at the time. I am in love with this printer. It creates high quality photo’s quickly. It has several great features included and does come with handy software for making adjustments either on your PC or on the printer itself. One thing I must say however, is that the type of photo paper you are using makes a HUGE difference. Epson Premium Glossy is by far the best when used with this. It is, in all honestly, difficult to tell the difference between a digitally printed photo and a traditional film photograph.” – by B. Santiagowile

Great for any budget
“This is very nice printer I must say…Prints fast, quiet, and sharp. I guess the only gripe would be no printer cable included, I mean who sells a printer without a cable?? But all u gotta get is a regular usb cable….. won’t cost u anything..” – by crystos

A printer that does everything well
“The seller advertised that this was part of a camera bundle. I received it promptly in the original box (darn, he took the camera!). It prints documents and photos with great quality and is much faster than my 4 year old HP deskjet. I was prepared to pay twice as much at a retailer for this printer but as part of a camera bundle I got a GREAT DEAL!” – by Alphonse J. Frank

Very Nice for the Price
“Purchased new from reseller for less than $50. Picture and text printing are outstanding. Easy to set up. LCD screen is clear and informative. Footprint is a little big and printing speed is not the fastest but great second printer for use with my laptop. I have a primary multifunction Canon which has been printing reliably for 2 years. Certainly worth the cost.” – by invictus

Best bang for the buck
“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the prints, given the low price of this printer. I have no regrets over this purchase. Set up intstructions were clear and easy to follow. On screen menus are easy to follow. You can print directly from your memory card without even using a computer. All in all, I would highly recommend this product. “ – by Edwin Walls

I love this printer
“I love this printer! Honestly it has better quality than any of our other printers we have owned. It prints so quickly too! I have no issues as far as noise goes either, it is very quiet. The ink cartridges seem to last a long time too! I convinced my husband we would get it because it was cheaper than buying ink cartridges and we would just sell it when they ran out and buy a color lazer printer…he’s convinced now that we don’t need the lazer printer! “ – by H. great photo printer
“I ordered this printer for my daughter and family (3 children) for Christmas – they take a lot of photos of the children and it’s great to be able to print them right off the camera. It’s small enough to fit and not take up a lot of space. The printer works great – and now I want one too!” – by Carol G. Renard

As Always, The Ink Is Expensive, But the Printer Is
“I have had this printer for about a year now, and I paid about $10.00 more for it than the cost of a new printhead, so it is a great value. This printer takes 9 different camera cards and has a small display that you can look at your pictures in prior to printing, without having to go to the computer. The output, no matter what you are printing, is excellent. I am sitting here looking at a photo calendar I printed for 2009, and it looks like it was done in a lab. It just prints really, really good photos.” – by J. A. Eastman

Features & Specifications

Canon PIXMA iP6220D Features

The PIXMA iP6220D Photo Printer makes it even easier to produce beautiful digital photos, right at home. What’s the secret to its amazing image quality? First, Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses an innovative print head with 2,304 nozzles that eject consistent, precise ink droplets as small as 2 picoliters. This patented technology produces an outstanding resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 dpi1, for superb detail and photo-realism. Also, we’ve added two high-intensity inks – Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta – to the conventional 4 inks, for more accurate color values. This 6 color capability makes the iP6220D photo printer ideal for photo enthusiasts with a discerning eye.

You can see this higher image quality in 4 x 6, 5 x 7 and 8.5 x 11 inch borderless photos, all with the look and feel of conventional photographs. And this printer is fast, too: you can produce a stunning photo lab quality 4″x 6″ borderless print in approximately 60 seconds2. Plus, the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed3 interface enables the fastest photo transfers possible from your computer.

Color LCD viewer and direct printing.
Using the built-in 2.5″ LCD color viewer gives you greater control over your photo results. Just insert your compatible memory card4 into one of the built-in card slots and view your images in full color. As needed, the PIXMA iP6220D Photo Printer will automatically correct for red eye, improve sharpness and enhance the light values on your subjects’ faces. Or, you can fine tune the images yourself using the easy control panel. Then, print directly from the memory card! You can also print directly from a PictBridge compatible digital camera or DV camcorder. You can even print photos directly from an infrared-enabled mobile phone: just shoot, point your phone and print5! And for Bluetooth-equipped mobile phones, PCs and PDAs, this versatile printer is Bluetooth compatible6 with the optional Bluetooth adapter – allowing you to print from another room.

A system for long-lasting photos.
The Canon ChromaLife100 system combines the PIXMA iP6220D Photo Printer’s FINE print head technology and newly developed inks with select Canon photo papers, with results rivaling that of many conventional photos. These beautiful photos will also last up to 100 years when stored in an archival quality photo album.
