Canon PIXMA iP6000D Reviews
PCMag reviews the Canon PIXMA iP6000D and writes;
“For graphics, full-page graphics tended to curl annoyingly. Photos earned a very good rating, held back primarily by slight posterization in one photo.”
Canon PIXMA iP6000D User Reviews
“My new Cannon iP6000D is just wonderful. The prints, on photo paper, look like they came from the store. The cartridges are generious sized, and cost an amazing $6 ea. It prints quick, and never gives me any trouble. I love the media print feature, where I put in my camera memory card, view the picture right on the printer LCD screen, make any adj. I want, and presto, store quality prints. “ – by David Ahlstrom
PIXMA iP6000D Photo Printer Review
“I have been a user of two different HP InkJet Printers over the past 6 years. I have been happy with the performance of each one. My only complaint was cost of Ink Cartridges. My son, an employee of Cartridge World, told me that the Canon with the ink tanks was a more economically feasable machine. I have been using this machine now for a month. I love the picture quality, the print quality, and the ease of using it. I will never go back to an HP InkJet Printer.” – by Forrest L. Ledbetter
Quality is good
“I am pleased with the Canon Pixma, the only problem I have experienced (I am using it to do edible imaging on cakes) is that the pictures tend to come out a little on the red side, so I have to ‘turn down’ the redness in the printer box. I don’t know if that would be true if I were using traditional photo paper or not. It’s a good printer though. I am glad I bought it. All of the people I have done cakes for with it have been satisfied!! “ – by Melissa Mcchesney
Very Good Printer…As expected
“I had the pixma IP6600 in mind, bought the Pixma IP6000d instead, because it can use third party ink cartridges. At first, I had poor quality prints using the HP photp paper I had left from my old printer. I switched to canon photo paper a the prints are IMPRESIVE. I hope the quality stands when I switch to third party inks.” – by L. Valdes
Canon PIXMA iP6000D Photo Printer
“Color print quality is excellent, professional photo lab quality when using high quality paper. Too early to provide a more detailed report on long term performance. Unit is a replacement for my previous Cannon printer only lasted about 1.5 years before developing a major (expensive) print head problem. I hope that this Canon will last much longer. “ – by Jakski
Great Canon printer
“Bought this product as an upgrade to my Canon I960, which performed flawlessly and I passed on to my daughter in college. Like the previous model, the IP6000D is a six ink system which gives me beautiful colors, prints quickly and is very economical in ink usage and cost. I purchased each for under $80 following a disastrous experience where both an original HP all-in-one and it’s warranty replacement died within a year. I am sold on Canon printers.” – by R. Schoeller
“The Canon PIXMA iP6000D Photo Printer is a versatile color ink jet printer which will print on all types of paper. I use it to print documents and photos. For photo printing, you can print directly from the memory stick by inserting it into the printer or from the computer using more standard printing software. I particularly like the individual ink tanks which allow me the flexibility of changing each tank as it empties rather than having to discard a color cartridge when only one of the colors is empty. I have used it for envelopes and card stock with much success. Overall, this printer is durable and a step up from my former printer which was a Canon S820. “ – by Ronald N. Smith
Canon Pixma iP600D
“Great printer, easy to operate with a replaceable print head. The reason I chose this printer is that the print cartridges are cheap and available in many places on the web. Previous printer was a Canon I860 that gave many years of good service. This printer is quiet and makes great color prints. I am afraid they will become harder to find in the future so if you need one, better start looking now.” – by BJ
“I’ve heard this is the last of the canons to get the cheap bci3 cartridges. Anyway, the printer works great and is economical. The only complaint is that the preview screen is hard to make out sometimes and curiously, the driver disk contained only mac software though it claimed to have pc also.” – by Robert C. Keiber
First Photo Printer
“I never had a photo printer before, so I really don’t have anything to compare this printer to. For my purposes, this printer is excellent. We were amazed after we printed our first photo. The photo editing is very basic and simple to use. We haven’t used any of the features on the printer really. I’m sure that it could do a lot more then we are aware of.” – by Bugsy2334

Canon PIXMA iP6000D Features
For the advanced photographer who wants exceptional quality, versatility, and control, the six-color Canon Pixma iP6000D Photo Printer is a powerful new tool. Take advantage of the Easy-Photoprint software to eliminate the frustrations of photo printing while empowering you to fix, sharpen, and enhance your photos. Using the large built-in 2.5-inch LCD and control panel, you can actually visualize the print process and fine-tune your images for better results, with or without a computer.
While most photo-editing software applications will brighten the entire image, Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0 accurately detects the subject’s face and adjusts the skin to the optimum tone. Brighten dark faces caused by bright backgrounds. Choose from one-click automatic to correct the entire image all at once, or manual to correct just a selected area.
Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0 also lets you select and print any image on your PC, perfectly trim images, correct images using lab-quality retouching features, correct red-eye, smooth facial lines and skin tone, sharpen faces, remove blemishes, and print in a variety of sizes and layouts.
The printer’s versatility is matched by its superior quality, achieving a resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 color dpi. Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a high-performance 1,536-nozzle print head that ejects consistent, prescribed-volume droplets as small as 2 picoliters. The results are fast prints and breathtaking detail on all your photos–including borderless prints up to 8.5 by 11 inches. Imagine a 4-by-6-inch borderless print that looks like a photo from the photo lab, in just seconds. With the convenience of a dual paper path system, you can keep photo paper in one tray and plain paper in the other, so you’re always ready to print photos or documents–no paper switching required.
Insert a memory card into the built-in card slots and you can preview, edit, and select images for printing with the LCD display and control panel. Images can be sized and then optimized for brightness, color tones, and color balance. Or, simply connect any PictBridge-compatible digital camera or DV camcorder, and print.
