Canon Pixma iP4500 Reviews
PCAdvisor reviews the Canon Pixma iP4500 and writes;
“The Canon Pixma iP4500 offers excellent speed, sharp print quality, and useful features for a good price. If your colour output tends more toward photos and graphics than charts and memos, it could be a good alternative to an entry-level colour laser.”
ITreviews reviews the Canon Pixma iP4500 and writes;
“Printed output, from the five separate ink cartridges – three colour and two black – is better than good. The one-picolitre ink-drop size, an industry best, produces some very fine detail and also enables smooth colour variations in photo prints. Plain paper text print, using the pigmented black ink, is clean and shows little noticeable ink run. Dye-based black ink printed over coloured backgrounds runs a little, but the effect is not that noticeable.”
Trustedreviews reviews the Canon Pixma iP4500 and writes;
“The iP4500, like its stable-mate, the PIXMA MP610, took over eight minutes. When it’s printing, the speed is much the same as for single-sided print, but the printer waits, presumably for the first side to dry, before printing the second side of each sheet. The slow print speed takes away some of the paper-saving attraction of printing duplex. A high-quality photo print took 49 seconds, which is a good time, though still over twice what Canon quotes for a 15 x 10cm borderless print.”
CNET reviews the Canon Pixma iP4500 and writes;
“The Canon Pixma iP4500 is an all-around good printer. The text prints were nicely dark, though close inspection revealed some jagged edges that could be cleaned up. The color graphics print showed pleasing saturation and sharp details in the photo elements, though the color gradients looked a bit faded and the same issue with slightly jagged edges cropped up. The 4×6 print was good overall. We liked the sharp details and general quality of the image, but the flesh tones were a bit washed out and could use a bump of warmth. Overall, the printer’s quality is great for everyday home printing–we found it to be slightly better than the print quality offered by the iP3500. “
PCWorld reviews the Canon Pixma iP4500 and writes;
“The text quality on plain paper was very nice–crisp, black, and just a little jagged in more-complicated fonts. While a laser could print better text, it couldn’t compete with the Pixma iP4500’s photos: Though color graphics tended to be yellowish (on both plain and photo paper), only flesh tones suffered from the excess attention–everything else looked vivid and natural.”
PCMag reviews the Canon Pixma iP4500 and writes;
“All the photos on our tests qualified as true photo quality, certainly a match for what you would expect from your local drugstore or photo shop. Even better, Canon promises that the photos will last, with claimed lifetimes of 100 years if kept in an album, 30 years if framed behind glass, and 10 years if exposed to the air. The photos are also reasonably water-resistant, so you can pass them around for people to look at without worrying that they’ll come back smudged.”
Canon Pixma iP4500 User Reviews
“I always use Konica/Minolta photo paper, and the photos are crisp, sharp, with beautiful colors. Speed is amazing as well. Ink is less expensive than the HP also. I do not use this printer for everyday text (I still use my HP for that), so I cannot really review that aspect of the printer, but I just do not think you can beat this printer for the price of it and the quality that I have seen with printing my photos. “ – by Patsy A. Jacks
“This printer has met all of my needs. I just love it. Although I don’t print a lot of pictures, I am printing recipe cards with a photo on the reverse, using glossy photo paper with a matte back (recipe on the matte side, photo on the glossy) Both the text and the photo are outstanding. I love the way that the paper can feed either from the rear (so it doesn’t have to roll around a platen (or whatever it is called), and it has a large paper tray in the front, out of sight. I can “close up” the printer when not in use, protecting it from dust.” – by J. Corbitt
Canon is still the best printer
“The printer is very nice looking and folds up well. Its not a tall machine but it is a bit wide just about the same width the i960 was. It is a fingerprint magnet because of the hi-gloss black finish but cleans easy. Its sturdy and seems to be well made with thick plastic and don’t really see anything cheap that can break easy. “ – by Scott
“Installing was very easy, as I followed exactly what the instructions said. I didnt use it a whole lot yet, but each time I used, I was astonished at its speed. Though it’s an inkjet, it’s got a laser printer speed. Even with color, it’s very fast. afterall, it’s a Canon, and i’m sure to I haven’t tried a lot yet, the quality of photo printing and etc are excellent. my big recommendation.” – by Soyoung Suh
Excellent so far
“While I haven’t put this printer through all of its paces yet, what I’ve seen so far is very encouraging. Text prints very quickly and looks as good as a laser printer. However, I bought this printer for photos and it looks like it’s going to surpass my ip3000 in quality. Colors seem a bit smoother and there also seems to be a minor improvement in sharpness.” – by Ricardo
Canon Pixma iP4500 is excellent printer
“I compared 2 photos on 3 different brands of paper with the same 2 photos that I had printed on my other printers. The first thing I noticed was that the prints (full 8 1/2 X 11) came out in about 5 seconds and they were dry. When I compared the prints, the Canon gave me slightly more vivid colors and finer detail. This Canon does a GREAT job. And the price is right; especially if you can purchase it on line.” – by PatsyAnn
Canon Pixma iP4500 is excellent printer
“I purchased this printer to replace an old Canon i850 color inkjet printer. The old printer worked great for a few years, then stopped working properly even though I used only Canon ink cartridges. So far the iP4500 seems to print text and photos very well – actually better than the old printer.” – by Dave K.
Best bang for the buck
“it’s fast, and surprisingly so. I’m getting 4×6 prints in 20 seconds, and full page copy off the web (black and white w/ some color — borders, bylines, and author headshots) at 6 seconds per page. Very respectable at any price. Black and white printing resolution is fairly sharp to the naked eye, but under a magnifying glass there’s some bleedout noticeable. While that may be a function of the paper I’m using, it’s definitely suitable for any business application.” – by T Galvin
“I have had this printer for a couple of months and it prints pictures great and text just as one would expect, also great. I would recommend this printer for its great picture printing and the fact that it uses individual ink tanks instead of one for color and one for black.” – by Kim L. Miller
