Canon PIXMA iP3000 Reviews
PCPRO the Canon PIXMA iP3000 and writes;
“Decreasing the ink-drying time increased the page rate to 6.5ppm – much better than our previous favourite, the HP Deskjet 5150. Going down to draft left the output still readable, while increasing the page rate to a 10ppm – satisfactory, if still some way off the 22ppm claimed speed. The print time of one minute, nine seconds for a 6in x 4in photo is good, especially at this price, with an A4 photo emerging after just two-and-a-half minutes.”
PCMAG reviews the Canon PIXMA iP3000 and writes;
“Output quality is somewhat mixed. The rating for photos falls short of excellent only because of a slight tint in our monochrome test photo, and the rating for text is good, with more than half our test fonts easily readable at 4 points. However, some stylized fonts need 12-point size for easy readability. And graphics rate only slightly better than fair, due to flaws in default mode that include both banding and black fills that are less saturated than they should be. Even so, this combination of speed and quality is extraordinary at this price.”
CNET reviews the Canon PIXMA iP3000 and writes;
“The iP3000′s text output looks identical to the iP4000′s, which, while pretty good, loses points for feathering around the letters. Text looked especially bad next to graphical elements, and colored graphics had a generally inconsistent, washed-out tone. As with the iP4000, the iP3000′s test photos showed a lot of dithering (meaning you could tell that the graphical and photo elements were made up of blended dots). The iP3000 had a harder time than the iP4000 with fine details, but our images did come out nicely saturated..”

Canon PIXMA iP3000 Features
The Canon PIXMA ip3000 is designed with 1,600 nozzles that produce tiny 2-picoliter droplets, resulting in finely detailed images that are worthy of saving in your family photo albums. Pigment-based inks insure colors will stay true, and the prints are resistant to water, fading, and smudges.
Precision Color Distribution Technology
Unlike other systems, nozzle configuration in Bubble Jet printers is simple, so it is easier to make them smaller and more dense. Using its superior semiconductor manufacturing technology, Canon has succeeded in developing an ultrahigh-precision, multinozzle print head. The problem of color inconsistency has been solved by positioning a mirror-image line of 128 nozzles (600 dpi pitch for each color) at a half-pitch offset from the existing line. This configuration also provides the added advantage of enabling high-resolution printing at 1,200 dpi.
While most photo-editing software applications will brighten the entire image, Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0 accurately detects the subject’s face and adjusts the skin to the optimum tone. Brighten dark faces caused by bright backgrounds. Choose from one-click automatic to correct the entire image all at once, or manual to correct just a selected area.
Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0 also lets you select and print any image on your PC, perfectly trim images, correct images using lab-quality retouching features, correct red-eye, smooth facial lines and skin tone, sharpen faces, remove blemishes, and print in a variety of sizes and layouts.
Exif Print Technology
Exif 2.2 is the worldwide printer independent standard for digital image processing. Under Exif 2.2, the digital still camera can record data tags for specific camera settings and functions such as whether the flash was on or off, if the camera was in landscape, portrait or night scene mode, etc. Referencing some or all of this information, an Exif Print compatible application can process digital camera images intelligently based on specific camera settings and the shooting environment.
With resolution up to 600 x 600 dpi black and 4,800 x 1,200 dpi color, your office documents or school reports will look as good as your photos. Built-in two-sided printing reduces your paper costs and allows you truly professional design options.
Top speeds of 22 ppm black and 15 ppm color (draft mode) will have your pages in hand in just a few seconds; a borderless 4-by-6-inch photo can take as little as 36 seconds–as fast as those old instant cameras, but with much better quality. Thanks to the PictBridge-compatible direct print port, you can connect your digital camera and churn out photos while bypassing your computer system.
The ip3000 is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, and requires only a USB cable to get it up and running (cable not included). Canon provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service.
