Canon Pixma iP1800 Reviews
Macworld reviews the Canon Pixma iP1800 and writes;
“The iP1800 exceeded our expectations of how well a $50 printer could perform. Though shadow detail was lacking and blacks appeared too light, the iP1800’s ability to produce very good photos was impressive for a printer at this price. In addition, the iP1800’s ability to print decent-looking gray-scale and color documents adds extra value to a purchase you won’t regret.”
PCMag reviews the Canon Pixma iP1800 and writes;
“Overall, the Canon Pixma iP1800 is a surprisingly good printer. I’d like it even more if its text quality were a bit better. Still, the text is good enough for most personal and business needs, the graphics and photos are more than adequate, and the performance is terrific for the price. It all adds up to making the iP1800 a great choice if you need a printer for a home, home office, or dorm room.”
Expertreviews reviews the Canon Pixma iP1800 and writes;
“Our photos were printed with smooth shading and little graininess, and we were impressed by the amount of visible detail. Sadly, the quality of the colour in prints didn’t match the level of detail. Dark skies and black backgrounds looked washed out and deep colours lacked intensity. A blue tinge gave flesh tones and light areas a cold appearance.”
CNET reviews the Canon Pixma iP1800 and writes;
“As far as print quality, the Pixma iP1800 did an okay job. Text prints on inkjet paper were quite good for a $50 inkjet printer: the text was well-formed, though the characters’ edges weren’t as clean and sharp as we’d like. Color text looked good, too, with smoothly blended colors. The color graphics print showed some of the same problems with text, though the photo elements showed great detail and sharpness.”

No Frills Printer: Just What I Want | Rating:
“The Canon PIXMA iP 1800 was interesting as the price was low and it was only one of a few printers available that were not either small photo printers or the all-in-one printers. I already have a fax machine and a scanner, so I was not going to spend the money for things I did not need.” – by J. Battani
Canon Prima IP1800, | Rating:
“This printer is one of the best values that I found. The price is within almost anyones budget. But the quality is the same as many of the much more expensive printers. Quite fast and excellent quality for black and white and color photos.
Also, it uses two (2) ink cartridges, one black and white and one color and they are both much cheaper than other printers.” – by Thomas A. Juhl
Top Notch Printer, | Rating:
“I have been switching more and more to Canon products because they are so good, and this printer is no exception. I bought it for my son. I have the iP4300, and it has been completely reliable. The ink is very reasonably priced. Based on past experience with several brands of printers, I recommend getting the factory ink for best results.” – by Book Carpenter
Decent, | Rating:
“This is a pretty good printer for the money – simple to operate and maintain. I agree with other evaulators who say that the ink goes extremely quickly, especially the color cartridge. As for the reviewer who gave this printer 1 star because it does not come with a USB cable, I have never heard of one that did – DUH!” – by JB fan
Pixma iP 1800 Delivers, | Rating:
“I replaced my Canon Pixma 6000D (with six expensive ink jets)with this nice utility printer. The quality of the photos with the iP1800 are high quality enough for family snapshots. And, I like the separate color and black cartridge so I can save on ink by just printing basic documents in “grayscale.” My son says the Canon cartridges are cheaper than HP. Big negative: No tray to catch the paper when it prints out.” – by D. Sedman
