United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 9th January 2012. Canon has introduced a new compact camera, it is the PowerShot G1 X. This camera has a large 14.3-megapixel CMOS sensor with a 4:3 of aspect ratio and a metal body. It also offers a new lens and DIGIC 5 Image Processor to produce beautiful blur, lower noise, and extraordinary resolution in low-light shooting and can shoot at ISOs of up to 12800. The lens offers a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 28-112mm. Additionally, the camera allows users to use full manual control with shooting mode and exposure compensation dials for quick and intuitive access. Feature include 14-bit raw capture, an optical viewfinder, flash hot shoe, High Dynamic Range mode and Full HD movie recording capabilities. The camera will be available in the end February with price of £699.00/€799.00/$799.99 RRP.
The Canon PowerShot G1 X is able to produce DSLR levels of image quality by combines EOS sensor technology with DIGIC 5 processing power. The sensor gives performance to improve the dynamic range that allows users to accurately capture shadows and highlights within the same frame. With the DIGIC 5 image processor, the HS System in the PowerShot G1 X offers a low-light performance to capture natural shot with incredible detail and low noise.
The camera also comes with a lens to achieve professional levels of image quality by featuring an Ultra high refractive index Aspherical (UA) elements and precision glass moulding technology. The lens offers a flexible 4x optical zoom range of 28mm – 112mm to easy zooming of the object, while the 6 blade aperture combined with the large-sized sensor to produce beautiful background blur. The lens also has a 4-stop optical Image Stabilizer (IS) to allows user shooting in dark situation.
In addition, the Canon PowerShot G1 X allows users to capture images in 14-bit RAW for smooth gradations and natural colours. It also enable to capture Full HD (1080p) movie at 24fps, via a dedicated movie button. The camera has a large vari-angle, 7.5cm (3.0”) PureColor II VA LCD screen with high resolution of 920k dot provides a sharp, detailed platform for image framing and review. Features include an optical viewfinder (OVF), High-speed Burst HQ, Smart Auto, HDR mode and ND filter, and more.
