Ask them if they can do anything to solve your problem. I bought my 5D on a vacation in Indonesia and when I found out I got a scratch on my 5d viewfinder, I just took the camera to the canon service center and they replace my 5d with a brand new one in 24hours Markus, you might want to bring your camera and the sample photos with the banding to the Canon Service Center.
