Excellent and affordable prime lens !
Given the price of this fixed focal lens, everybody should own one ...
It's distortion free ... and fast ! very good for shallow depth of field and low light photography.
it's very light too !
On an APS-C body, it converts to a 80mm lens which makes it a good portrait lens !
Some people prefer the MKI version because of the metal mount but they're hard to find, cost as much as a brand new MKII and since the lens is very light, there's not that much effort applied to the mount so I don't think it's worth the trouble ...
Overall, this lens is a must have !

One of the most amazing little lenses. I've spoken to so many people - from total beginners to professional photographers - who love what it does, despite its cheap feel and amazingly low price. I use it in low lighting conditions and the images are always sharp. Obviously, it's also ideal for portraits. See the review on my blog too.
